DETROIT -- A man serving a life sentence for a murder conviction has won a $219,000 judgment against a prison employee.
Darrell Siggers claims he was transferred to another prison in 2001 in retaliation for a complaint.
The 41-year-old Detroit man claimed that David Barlow, a resident unit manager at Mound Correctional Facility, had him transferred after he complained that Barlow failed to promptly process paperwork to pay for a lawyer.
Barlow denied Siggers claim.
But on Wednesday Siggers won the judgment, which included $200,000 in punitive damages.
The state attorney general's office said the case might be appealed.
Why is it the resident unit manager's responsibility to process paperwork for this con?
Hmmm. They should give this guy his $219,000, in small bills pasted all over his body. Then send him into the prison lunchroom.
have fun spending it!!!
"Uh, can I get that in cigarettes?"
Detroit is the New Orleans of the north. It was settled by the French.
Wow, new tagline.
Crime pays...in Detroit.
The money awarded to this sub-human should immediately be turned over to his victim's family.
I hope it goes to pay for his care in prison.
You NEVER forget your first post.....
Scott Peterson and a whole lotta trash are taking our breatheable air and wasting tax dollars. Not sure what you meant by "first post".
Just allow the Law to do the right thing. Syonara to the lowlife convicted murderers.
