These kooks are a Jim Jones Kool Aid party waiting to happen.

Actually quite the opposite. Mass suicide would be VERY bad for business.

Oh, yeah, it seemed like a calculated, rational move, to me.

But still funny, in a grim sort of way.

Secrets of Scientology: Evil Galactic Emperor Xenu, empties his overcrowded galaxy and send them to earth, gathers them around earths volcanoes, detonates volcanoes with nukes, everyone dies, souls remain on earth, lost souls are body thetans that haunt humans, scientology will help you audit and clear those nasty buggers so you can be like Tom Cruise too. That's the science fiction story you pay big bucks to learn when you join this wacko group. Google "Operation Clambake" and you can learn all about it.

Scientology is a cult, pure and simple. It keeps itself from being criticized by buying up anyone who will.. the national organization for cult tracking and information was bought by scientology a few years ago just to keep them off the list and to prevent families from finding out that their loved ones were indeed in a cult.

Here is a good site that details some things about Scientology

http://www.xenu.net/

Look under PERSONAL ACCOUNTS.............

Here is a good person to study. She give video accounts of her 30 year experience on the front lines of "Church" of Scientology:

I don't know about scientologists, but we're overrun with 7th Day Adventists and Mormons in my neck of the woods.

I've cured most of 'em by answering the door nekkid, lit cigarette in mouth, beer in one hand, Ruger Vaquero in the other.

For awhile there, I was wishin' they would deliver the mail, or at least pack along a snow shovel.

"Scientology is a cult, pure and simple."

"Cult" in this context meaning a religion you don't like?

Much as I despise these swindling moonbats, they're pretty smart to hide their larceny behind that darned inconvenient First Amendment.

Although "scheming to defraud" and "taking by fraud" are legitimate criminal offenses. "Practing medicine without a license" (in this case, psychology) is a crime also.
But I imagine the law is very leery of going after a church-
even one that pushes the definition of 'church' as far as the Scientologists do.

This story reminds me of when Elizabeth Clare Prophet had her group and compound near Yellowstone Park. They were preparing for some kind of survivalist gig and were busted for having full auto assault rifles in storage.

You must be in NW NM, where I used to live and shoe horses many years ago.
My brother-in-law (If you know him he probably owes you money)lives there now and he is the ONLY reason I'm not there.

Why is it these fruits and nuts always sprout and take over the most beautiful parts of our country?

Tijeras, E. of ABQ.

I still shoe horses as well, although only for recreation (I'm getting too old).

I probably do know your brother-in-law. Been in NM 54 years.

Something about the sunsets attracts the fruits.

Sorry, but when a "church" shows up with a documented plan to take over Tampa Florida, like this "church" did years ago, and got caught.. .its not a "church"... its a cult and a very very dangerous criminal organization.
