CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES 'X' OVER VP'S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH
**Exclusive**
At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!
The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.
As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."
One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.
"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"
A CNN spokesman did not return repeated calls late Monday night.
Developing...
Again, I don't think the ghost image is in English.
I think it's in Arabic. Wish we had a FReeper who could look at this for us, who would know...
lj, I'm wondering if it's in Arabic; that would account for the fact that nobody can read it.
Rove and Bush did it to make main stream media look bad?
Wow, I don't know how I could have forgotten that.

Obviously, Dick Cheney (as former Secretary of Defense) is the head of a super-secret military organization. CNN just "outed" him. There should be an investigation.

This is nothing new. Journalism among the left is to propragate lies, hide and then claim ignorance (if questioned)!
It looks kind of like Russian text to me.
Good one, Fintan. You may be onto something.
*excuse me, I'm adjusting my tinfoil hat*
Could be Russian. This does NOT look like English.
Wasn't there something about terrorists using images hidden in photos or pictures to send messages?
That writing image looks like it might show up with the right color filter over it--or several, maybe, that filter out the colors in the background, revealing the message (and the language).
I am not taking any chances.I'm putting my TIN Foil HAT on.
I tried playing with the saturation and gamma on the photo but it's still hard to see. It could be a graphic that someone was working on that mistakenly got punched on air. I do see the word 'black' over the 'LIVE Today' at lower right, and there are definitely other words below the X superimposed over Cheney's quote.
Since this was not live at the time the X aired, the super is appearing over video. I originally thought this could not have been an error, but I see now how it could be after all.
By Jove, you've got it there. What a strange mistake.
You're on to something with the filter idea.
Also I was thinking it could be inverted or reversed or obversed or mirror-imaged or something along those lines.
At first I couldn't place it, but was thinking Turkish? I just can't tell. But it's not English.
That's what I'm thinking now as well. It actually appears to say [fade to] black.
Outstanding work, but I disagree that it says that.
I'm not sure what all it says, but not that. If so, why are some of the letters upside down/backward, but not all?
It's English. There is nothing sinister here.
Two can play at that game:

For the same reason that Cheney is upside down. You are looking at the original (easily seen letters) and the letters that appear when I "FILLED" the area where the X is with a different color than black
Okay. Thanks. (...still not completely sure....)

CNN CLARIFIES CLARIFICATION: We Cannot Support the Troops. .
(Atlanta 2005-02-11) 6:35 EST -- Bowing to the blogstorms of the insidious right to become transparent, CNN this afternoon issued a clarification of their previous clarification via CNN's official spokeswoman, Christa Robinson.
"At a meeting between Eason Jordan and CNN executives this afternoon," Robinson stated, "it was agreed that this unfortunate incident was a learning opportunity for CNN on many levels. Accordingly, it was the consensus of all those at this high-level meeting that CNN immediately adopt the high-principles of journalistic professionalism, consistency, and transparency demanded by the blogosphere.
"It is, then, the official position of CNN News that, since we do not and cannot support the imperialistic American war in Iraq, we do not and cannot support the American troops in Iraq, either as units of the occupying and oppressive fascist forces of Bushism, or as individual Americans.
"We fully realize that by making our previously opaque position perfectly transparent, we are putting our journalists in danger of being assassinated by the stormtroopers of Amerikkka at an even greater rate than that divulged by Chairman Jordan to his friends in Switzerland last month, but that is an acceptable risk.
"Accordingly, we give fair warning to the goose-stepping minions of the Uber-Fascists in the White House, that all our reporters will be armed to the teeth with RPGs, trained to kill on command, and have their SUVs fully armored.
"Chairman Jordan fully endorses this new position and, although he will not make himself available for comment, may be quoted as saying, 'Bring 'em on!'
"Thank you. There's a backgrounder available at Easongate[.com].
"...very strange in penny lane today."
Nothing strange with this 'penny'..(wink)

McCain-Feingold is null and void -- an un-American, unacceptable, un-Constitutional intrusion into every person's right to speak the truth about politics.

Time for some heavy duty FReeping of their headquarters(Communist Headquarters) in Atlanta.
his codename is gofckyourself. His power is the mighty scowl.

The Amber Lager is good, but I think I like the Special Lager better.
Looking over the posts again. Not sure if anyone has brought up the possibilty that the Secret Service might be crawling all over CNN right now. They should be..let's hope they are. This could be a direct threat on the VP of these United States!!
Some of you say an 'innocent glitch'..others say: "left winged propaganda".
Someone in charge of protecting the President should say: Put that under "Threat Matrix"....'CODE ONE'
Lets see if this type of treason gets as much play as the RATS commercial did in for Bush in 2000.
Here is a slo-mo of a segment of the speech. Notice how the X and the lettering fades in and out at the same time. Very interesting...

Reminds me of HBO's transparently lame explanation of Captain Midnights 1st override of their signal in 1986...
A week earlier, MacDougall had successfully overridden HBO's powerful signal momentarily with just a test pattern. (He now publicly denies this, but he admitted it to a United States attorney.) The network had quickly brushed that signal aside, attributing it to not uncommon accidental interference.
And oh BTW, this was an inside job...
by the end of 1987 every radio and television transmitter must use an electronic name tag whenever it is on the air. Each satellite uplink station would leave a unique, unchangeable electronic signature whenever it was used.

It is lower-case, black arial font. I couldn't make it all out, but it says "begins", starting at the right side of the "W" in wrong. It also says "of black" on top of a tilted CNN logo in thebottom right of the screen, on the sam line as "begins".
It helps to play with the image brightness and text tools in photoshop.

I guess they're gonna stick with the "glitch" explanation.
Love the word glitch. It means : Trust us, it's too complicated for some dumb ass like yourself to understand.

Why does the media get to do this? Whoever did this.. should be beat with a metal pipe..
I seem to have jumped the gun. It looks like I was just reading the original. Sorry guys, me BAD :-(
I hate CNN very much!
Na, you can't beat up 13 year olds.
According to my magnifying glass there is more writing in black underneath the lower line also.
