How would the Weyco Rule be significant here? School staff are usually part of a teachers union that could protect employees rights. In this case, a labor union might be better than working for a business that can fire at will.

Yep, Clinton, Blair and others liked to call their "new" governing theory "The Third Way." They pushed this farce as a happy medium between socialism and unbridled free enterprise. The plan is for government to control private property for the glory and the good of the almighty state. This, of course, is nothing more than old European style fascism, another branch of the Marxist tree.

So I'm willing to add Savage's "soft communism" as a new branch to the goosestepper's tree.

But I still enjoy calling these liberals fascists. It really turns their noses red, especially when you give them the old seig heil salute.

I just thought of what a silly euphemism "soft communism" is. "Soft communism" is Socializm or, more precisely, a transition period for the introduction of Marxist principles to the proletariat before the inevitable final revolution that will sweep from power and lofty position the evils of the hated bourgeosie for all time.

I think all Savage meant was socializm with rock & roll and everybody fat, dumb and unhappy. Maybe that's it. That's our innovation. How to be communist when everybody is drunk and fat and has more clothes and toys than they know what to do with. Even the poor. How to keep them ginned up against the "Man" THEN?

I thought there was an older version of "The Third Way" that was Socializm itself, promoted as a "kinder & gentler" form of Communism, in the 1950s maybe, by people like Nasser, and Ghandi(?). Is this not true?

"Many were in wheelchairs with IV drips on rollers. I can't tell you how sad it was except to say the temp. outside was below freezing."

I guess the smoking nazis just want to prove that smoking kills. This way, when people start dying of complications from catching pneumonia out in the freezing cold, they can say these people would still be alive if they didn't smoke. < /sarcasm >

"When I was in school, one reason they provided a smoking lounge for the teachers was because the students weren't supposed to see the teachers smoking."

When I was in school, there were smoking areas for the kids.

I've heard the Hitler called his national socialism "The Third Way." But I've seen no historical proof of that. I imagine it was some phrase thrown out by a third-rate Marxist scribbler and later adopted by left wing politicians. Marxists are good at making up stupid phrases that mean whatever they want it to mean.

Try reading a "soft law" document like the UN's Biodiversity Treaty. It's filled with verbs, adjectives and phrases honking nonsense at each other. Precautionary principle is one of their stupid phrases. It means that something must be done before something happens even if we don't have proof that it will happen. Kyoto and the global warming nonsense is one example of the precationary principle in action.

No kidding! We had to sneak around. I was a smoker in high school. Just so I could feel like I was getting away with something, I guess. I remember us sneaking puffs in the girl's locker room after drill team practice (I was a pompom girl who wore those white go-go boots, ROFLMAO!). The coach came around and wanted to smell everyone's breath. So funny...!

I think it might have been Nasser and DeGaulle (Ghandi was in that clique as well) that saw their militaristic, anti-US, independent from the USSR, Socializm to be the third way. I'm pretty sure Clinton's is derivative, he is not known for originality.
