The changing of guard (Rather, Koppel, Jennings, Brokaw...) comes at a "bad time" for libs. They didn't get one final victory before leaving office.
No election in 2004 (when they pulled out all the stops to win).
No retreat from Iraq.
The turning point of support for the war will forever be linked to the media's exploitation of Abu Ghraib. It was done so to toss President Bush out of office and Republicans out of power. Such was the haste to spread the bad news that the Boston Globe even published long discredited porn site photos as "evidence" of abuse. A British paper was also caught publishing fabricated images of a British soldier urinating on a "prisoner".
News of these (hoaxed) images and the media's fanning the flames of hate with the original ones led directly to the decapitation of Nick Berg. And yes I fully blame the media for that one.
Nick Berg had been kidnapped before the "scandal" was news. Numerous Americans had been. One had even escaped prior to Berg's murder. The hostages became a liability. The media opened the door to a publicity stunt for the Isalmonazis.
I'm right with you on that and more. I've been watching the dems and the media act in unison. Every time the war gets better and things ease off a bit they create a scandal to ratchet it up again. There's blood on their hands. IMHO And it's all for their lust after power.
Blaming is great, and I concur. BUT isn't there something legally that can be done to stop the news organizations, so-called, from publicizing all the lies?
