Sorry for the delay but I just returned today from our hunting trip to sw PA.

Believe it or not, in the area we hunt there was not one shot fired yesterday or today. As near as we could count, there were 30 hunters in the woods where we were and, although you did run accross one now and then, it wasn't crowded. My grandson talked with almost all of them and there were 4 anterless deer seen and that was it. We didn't see any, however, today we saw 8 in one group (anterless). That is all we saw in 2 long days of hunting. We could have taken two but decided not to do it, at least not until the last day, if then. It is terrible there. I hunted this same area as a young man and we had plenty of deer, now they are not there. The guy that farms the farm ( if you want to call it farming) where we go into the mountain is driving around in a pickup at night and gut shooting deer just to get rid of them. I know this is a strong statement but several locals told us this is what is happening to them. I believe the ones remaining have changed their habits and those that are left are doing different things to avoid this guy.

Yes. Well I remember that farmers will do this saying that deer eat their crops and other wise do damage to their farms. Deer can be a pain in the rear for farmers but really are limited in what damage they can do.

good luck and be careful out there. Young deer meat is very good eating.

This is not Sungirl.

Darks, you know me. Why should I not speak the truth?

I disagreed with her on so many things, but she is a person that cannot respond partially because of her and mine interaction on a thread. She was banned.

This jerk is not her.

I defend her because we both love animals. I kill some, she doesn't but we can agree that Phudd was a rockin' dog.

God is watching, it's true. I will answer to him, and there will be much for which I will be ashamed, and for which I will only be able to ask mercy, because I will have no excuse.

However, the times when I've killed wild animals for food will not number among them. Vegetarianism is the only answer to your critique of hunting, and in my bible at least, humans are specifically authorized to eat meat.

USDA approved is the way to go. Farms with the funding to provide food.

Oh, right. Turn to the government to certify your food, and to provide a socialist subsidy for farmers.

If I may ask, how on earth do you call yourself conservative?
