This issue isn't going away any time soon. It's getting quite interesting. I think parents are starting to pay attention.
"While he would like to keep to Florida's science standards, Saravia said he would have trouble connecting to some students if he didn't at least mention intelligent design.
"I have students who come in to my class and say, `Oh, I believe in God. You're not going to change my mind,''' he said."
He should just reply that he's teaching a science class, so the existence or otherwise of God isn't relevant during the time that they spend in his classroom...

A bit off topic, but it looks like the fossil fuel THEORY could be debunked in time, so maybe the evolution THEORY will follow:
'Fossil fuel' theory takes hit with NASA finding
New study shows methane on Saturn's moon Titan not biological
--snip--
"This finding confirms one of the key arguments in 'Black Gold Stranglehold: The Myth of Scarcity and the Politics of Oil,'" claims co-author Jerome R. Corsi. "We argue that oil and natural gas are abiotic products, not 'fossil fuels' that are biologically created by the debris of dead dinosaurs and ancient forests."

Broward.....Intelligent Design.
Broward County, FL: One of the counties in the 2,000 Presidential Election whose citizens couldn't figure out how to read a ballot. To use the two words "Broward" and "Intellient" in the same sentence, is that allowed?
