Over the course of the eight months of the D.C. Chapter's Friday night demonstrations in support of our troops recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, we've been fortunate to be able to able to speak with many soldiers and hear their thoughts about the war and those who protest against it.
Recently, one soldier shared his stories with us of his experiences with those opposed to the war. To preserve his privacy from vindictive leftists, I'm leaving out details that might help them identify him.
The soldier told us of returning to a stateside civilian airport last year in uniform. Most of the time, he said, he and his fellow soldiers are greeted warmly, regardless of politics.
However, this time he was approached by a man who berated his service. The soldier responded with what is a standard statement, that he was fighting for the man's right to make such comments.
The man replied by spitting on the soldier.
A police officer witnessed the exchange and promptly intervened. He arrested the man for assault and took him away.
This month, while the soldier was staying at Walter Reed, he ventured out with four of his buddies for a relaxing evening at a local establishment.
A man approached the obviously wounded soldier and called him a "baby killer." The soldier responded by telling the man that he was fighting for his right to say things like that.
The man replied by shoving the soldier hard in the chest with both hands.
The soldier instinctively defended himself and decked the man with one punch.
As the man lay on the floor, five of his friends approached the wounded soldier to take him and his four buddies on.
Foolishly, they failed to recognize the group of eight Marines and Air Force personnel also hanging out in the joint who had been watching the wounded soldier's back.
It was all over very quickly. The manager asked everyone to leave, but he made a point of thanking the military men for their service to our country.
That's what a lot of these goons are trying to do outside of Walter Reed - pretend to be sympathetic and try to win some soldiers to their misguided cause. They're not very effective at it, either. But they still have hard-core jerks. One guy last Friday referred to American military members as "murderers." Until these peace idiots started getting really lousy press, they had signs out front saying "Maimed for a lie" and "Die for Halliburton" (or a close facsimile).
I wonder, What that POS remembers and is he ashamed now? ...after reflecting over the years....was his name John. :D

I am certain that it was "all over very quickly. It'll leave deep memories in the agressors mind never to mess with a GI, especially one who appears unable to defend himself.
Baby killers...rigggght. And while they're shooting their mouths off about "killing babies", these are the same people who would help "hold the hose" to suck a fetus out of it's womb. A##wipes!

I can NOT stand these freaks. They've never grown up...always against our military guys, yet feel THEY have all of these special rights.

In the meantime, while you unknot your panties, I'll continue pursuing the arrest report. If I didn't consider the source credible, I wouldn't spend the time.
The second story is very inspirational. I hope there were a lot of missing teeth.
We subsequently talked about the university professor who has a large reward out for any Vietnam vet who could prove they were spat upon. The prof claims it's an "urban myth".
When I told hm that anyone who could claim that money (because they had the proof in writing) would fly there to claim it for free because I'd buy the plane ticket just to see that prof have to shut his mouth.

Today's peace "movement"is a mess.Back in the Sixties, groups like ANSWER were laughed at as being Stalinist dinosaurs.
Yeah,SDS and the Yippies were damn fools but SOME of them had a sense of the absurd and could laugh at themselves.This current group is fossilized.
The little kids and old ladies weren't around.
