DRUDGE: White House Plan if Saddam Found 'Not Guilty'
Drudge Report ^ | November 27, 2005 | Matt Drudge

Senior Bush administration officials have considered the unthinkable: What if Saddam Hussein is found not guilty in his trial?

"There will be more charges filed against him, and more charges after that, if needed... he has committed tremendous crimes," a top Bush source explained last week from Washington.

Saddam and seven of his former henchmen currently face charges of crimes against humanity over a 1982 massacre of Shiite villagers.

A defiant Saddam has refused to recognize the court and has declared himself president of Iraq.

Prosecutors hope to win a conviction by using videotape of Saddam issuing assignation orders.

Meanwhile, Iraqi police say they have captured an Al-Qaeda cell plotting to kill the chief judge in charge of building the case against Saddam.

The trial resumes Monday after a five-week recess.

Christ. How many millions of murder charges can he be charged with? The film of him and his stooges killing political foes back in 1968 should be more then enough to hang him. What I have been told is the film shows all the various Saddamites actually killing political opponents during the 1968 Coup.

For his weekly radio show, of course! I listen sometimes. It's not bad.

Another leak? Was it to the NY Times or the Washington ComPost this time?

We'll see tonight on the Drudge Show, I expect.

Saddamn tried to assassinate 41. That'll get him fried over here if the Iraqis don't want to do it.

Hopefully this won' eve come up - but the real nightmare scenario is that he is found not guilty and the Iraqis refuse to prosecute further.

It is just insurgent minutemen fighting on behalf of their president.

Besides, John FreedomFighter Kerry was a leader in an organization that plotted to assassinate congressmen who still supported the Vietnam War AND he was not considered inelligble for the office of President despite his treason.

Saddam is a dead man walking.

No matter the result of any trial, he's toast.

Hype.

It's not the White house or the US Justice Department that is bringing the charges so it's not their "plan" in the first place. It has been known since the first public discussion of Saddam's trial that not all charges would be brought at once.

Well, if only he'd killed a gay black Mormon biker or something...

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Or even if we showed he absentee voted for Reagan... :-)

We're not really supposed to talk about that - but since you brought it up, my understanding is that Rove and Cheney will crank up global warming a little more and we'll grow maple trees in Alaska.

assignation orders?

Assignation - an arrangement to meet especially among lovers.

That sounds more like Bill Clinton than Saddam Housein.

I think they meant 'assasination.'

If he's found not guilty, then President Bush should call up his good buddy Slick Willie to arrange an Arkancide. Hey, it's worked before!
