A MOVIE TO MAKE AMERICA PROUD (Malkin on Willis' movie)
Michelle Malkin ^ | 11-27-05 | Michelle Malkin

The Sunday Times of London follows up on Bruce Willis' plans to make a film about the heroes of Deuce Four, based on the reporting of embedded journalist/blogger extraordinaire Michael Yon:

ANGERED by negative portrayals of the conflict in Iraq, Bruce Willis, the Hollywood star, is to make a pro-war film in which American soldiers will be depicted as brave fighters for freedom and democracy.

It will be based on the exploits of the heavily decorated members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, which has spent the past year battling insurgents in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul.

Willis attended Deuce Four’s homecoming ball this month in Seattle, Washington, where the soldiers are on leave, along with Stephen Eads, the producer of Armageddon and The Sixth Sense.

The 50-year-old actor said that he was in talks about a film of “these guys who do what they are asked to for very little money to defend and fight for what they consider to be freedom”.

Unlike many Hollywood stars Willis supports the war and recently offered a $1m (about £583,000) bounty for the capture of any of Al-Qaeda’s most wanted leaders such as Osama Bin Laden, Ayman Al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab al- Zarqawi, its commander in Iraq. Willis visited the war zone with his rock and blues band, the Accelerators, in 2003.

If more people like Bruce, Mel Gibson, etc., stood up to the Hollywood 'elite ruling class' I think they would he stunned by the boxoffice they would attract. I don't want to be lectured when I go to a movie or watch Television and highly resent it when I am... I think Mayer, Warner, etc., all had the right idea when they controlled what their talent said to the press. They knew the public wanted mystery when they go to the movies.

Dang...you are right...it WAS Mel Gibson's movies.

I guess I just showed my ignorance about movies, didn't I?

Oh, well---I still won't go to Danny Glover movies...LOL

But, if Mel wants to make a movie w/o Glover, I might see it also...

Thanks for correcting my stupid mistake.

Hmmm... I haven't watched it in a long time, sorry, I would have sworn it was Glover (who I detest). Wonder how Gibson feels about him these days?

Bruce....someone who recognizes a real hero and doesnt try to equate his life as a "role model" with theirs.

A stark difference from many celebrities

I absolutely love Morgan Freeman.. please don't tell me he's joined Glover and others on the dark side. I would be very disappointed. He has always struck me as a real Southern Gentleman (and a great actor).

I'm afraid even Mr. Freeman has his foot on the moonbat line... not completely all the way, but uncomfortably close. He hasn't reached BelafonteMoonbatLand... yet (not even Danny G. has reached that point).
