Missile Attack On Passenger Jet?
Radio News | November 28, 2005

Posted on 11/28/2005 4:49:25 AM PST by texianyankee

I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."

I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.

Okay, it's an ABC radio news broadcast.

I listened to the 7:00 AM national news broadcast & this time no mention of the LAX incident.

I am positive of what I heard on the 6:00 AM broadcast - I was driving & wide awake.

"...what he really saw was a spark in the center fuel tank. "

C'mon, everyone knows that was not really what happened. The FBI lied. So what? Center fuel tank.... missle.... what's the difference? It's not gonna bring anyone back from the dead. That's old news, can't we just move on?! - J. Kallstrom

I'm buying my fireworks at the wrong place

Yet another casualty of the WOT - it has become impossible to buy M-80's in recent years around here. No more fun gratuitous explosions.

The pilot is mistaken, what he really saw was a spark in the center fuel tank.

Or a leftover flying frozen Butterball.

I was listening to ABC radio in the NYC area pretty consistently from 5:30 to 7:30 AM. I didn't hear it. Like a lot of posters on this thread, I too have suspicions that any story of a threat would be downplayed, or ignored.

spark in the center fuel tank.

I watched the The History Channel rebroadcast of the flight 800 cover-up last night for the umpteenth time.  Just amazing Clinton got away with that.

Heard nothing. Bottle rocket at 6,000 feet? I'm buying my fireworks at the wrong place each 4th of July.

Haven't you ever seen three stage bottle rockets?

We had ham, but the ham leftovers could be catapulted just as easily.

Yes, when within five minutes of any incident they tell us "investigators are ruling out terrorism as a possibility".

"We have always known this could happen. We've warned about it. We've talked about it. I regret to say, as I served on the Intelligence Committee up until last year. I can remember after the bombings of the embassies, after TWA 800, we went through this flurry of activity, talking about it, but not really doing [sic] hard work of responding." -- John Kerry, Sept. 11, 2001

"You know, we've had terrorism for a long time now. We've had the Achille Lauro, the Munich Olympics, the pipe bomb at the Olympics in Atlanta, the TWA 800, the bombing of embassies, and it's not going to disappear overnight." -- John Kerry, Sept. 24, 2001

"In my time at the White House (the situation room) was used in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing, in the aftermath of the TWA Flight 800 bombing, and that would be the way they would stay in contact through the afternoon." -- George Stephanopoulos, Sept. 11, 2001

If a terror group was responsible for bringing down a plane, wouldn't they take responsibility for it? Isn't that the point?

At 6,000 feet? That's one hell of a bottle rocket.

Don't you worry. The same FBI guys who so swiftly solved the Oklahama suicide bombing case, are surely on their way out to LAX as we speak. I'm sure we'll all get the facts ASAP!

Heard it on the radio. Nothing to see here. Move along. Bottle rocket or distress flare. Move along.

This is really disgusting. I know what I heard on the radio this morning. It was reported on an ABC newsradio broadcast - yet i can find absolutely nothing on google.

Why on earth it would be reported on a news radio broadcast yet nothing more on the internet - at least not yet?

I googled LAX, missile, passenger jet, ABC news, etc....
no luck.

There is a delay. The AP writers are finding out from the FBI what they are supposed to write. /s

Call the radio station. Maybe they know where to get some of them high performance bottle rockets.
