Due to policy, the entire article must be viewed from FOXNEWS, this is only an excerpt.

I like what the President said, but there are glaring dishonesty in what he said as well.

Increasing the border security to 12,500 guards isn’t going to secure the border. Even with the addition of new technology, most analysts estimate that we need anywhere from 40,000 to 60,000 border guards.

The guest workers program is a complete scam.

It is obvious that most Americans overwhelming support securing the border, and it is obvious that most Americans want to stop this invasion of illegal aliens from south of the border. And it is obvious that many Americans are becoming vocal about this, and many of these Americans make up what some call the “Bush base” – what the old media calls “conservatives” – and what is obvious is that with the Presidents poll numbers in the toilet, the President is trying to “secure his base” by talking about “securing the border”.

Leading the way? McCain . . . and Specter?

I don’t trust anything McCain has to offer, and I out and out spit out as vile anything, ANYTHING, that Arlen Specter has to offer or say.

I think I heard the President mention both of their names. Leading the way? Well, I’m not following them down that road, no way.

I like what he said about catch and release, but can I believe him? The idea of the guest workers program is to give amnesty to those illegal aliens who are here, give them a guest workers card, invite millions more to come in and get the identity card, and after five years or so under the law they have to go back. I like the idea that they have to go back, but can I believe the President when he says they will go back? Because, I think they might not go back. The number two radio program in Los Angeles is a Spanish language program. I think with this guest workers program, it will be number one. I don’t think anyone, in fact my “gut feeling” is that not even one, not one, will go back after five years. During that period they will have had six children, besides.

What we are observing today, is history in motion. Conservatives are not a small minority. They make up a substantial constituency. This constituency is, and can be, more powerful than the leftist Hispanics who want the invasion to continue and want to form a new Mexico and an exclusive Mexican identity here in America. And what we are observing today, is the power of conservatives and Americans, and that is why the President is bending on this issue. Because, the big lie of the old media is that the Presidents negative polling is all about Iraq. The truth is, a significant percentage of this negative polling is coming from Americans who are sick of the Bush Administration policies regarding illegal immigration, liberal spending, kowtowing to Kennedy and McCain and others, and yes, not being tough enough in Iraq. In other words, just being too liberal.

This speech today had some answers. It also had propositions which will make the answers to this question more difficult. And, I didn’t here Tancredo’s name mentioned. Which is quite amazing, but not surprising.

Here is what can be done. We immediately enforce all the good ideas that the President mention in his speech today. And we reject the guest workers program right down the toilet. The President said we cannot have a “solution” without a guest workers program. That is completely false.

Should I say, it is a “lie”?

We need the anchor babies thing eliminated, if that was done, I think most of Bush's proposal, even the temporary work visas might be able to work.

What is also "obvious" is that Americans don't want to pay more for food and other items - you failed to address any of Bush's points about keeping the economy going - I hope you don't think sealing the borders would do that.

>>>Should I say, it is a “lie”?<<<

Yes. On the so-called "Guest Worker Program" President Bush is lying his ass off. The rest of his so-called "Crack Down on Illegal Immigration" is also a lie. He has now proven he no concern whatsoever for our national sovereignty or our culture. I knew it was a mistake to vote for him, but like a fool I did it anyway. God forgive me.

Why can't we build a 10 meter high concrete wall from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico and be done with the problem? The engineering is not that big a deal, and the cost could be pretty reasonable with the proper design.

So why not do it?

Start by getting finger prints and pictures of all captured.

Go to all the Home Depots and anywhere you find men loitering around that isn't a sports venue and you have a probable pack of illegals.

Go after tips.

Take away the right to any free education, medical assistance or a birth certificate for illegals who want to drop anchor babies here.

"But politically, the proposal has been a problem for the president because it looks like amnesty to some conservatives. Bush said he would not reward illegals for breaking the law."

Quick! Someone get Fox News and the President of the United States a dictionary! It's not that it "looks like amnesty to some conservatives", Fox - it's that the proposal fits the English language's definition of the word amnesty. That's not an overreaction from nutcases, it's a simple objective fact. Webster's dictionary did not have political motivations when they set about defining the word "amnesty". If Fox and the President don't like the fact that his proposal fits the English language's definition of the word "amnesty", then I suggest the President modify his proposal such that it no longer fits that word's definition.

Bush has no idea how much he is damaging his reputation, his presidency, and his place in history by his grossly negligent head in the sand inaction regarding securing the border. His current proposal, comes under the heading of too little, too late. In fact, the initiative is pathetic. 1000 more border folks? Give me a break. Just last year, Bush cut back the increase to what was it, 200 or something?

Anything short of a 30 foot high fence along both sides of our borders is just smoke and mirrors. Nothing new here.

$3.7 billion to track down illegal immigrants and hold them until they are deported

Let's do a little math. For the sake of argument, let's assume there are about 12 million illegals here. $3.7 billion would work out to just over $300 per immigrant. We could do it for less. Offer a bounty of $100 each. I could buy a new car just for turning in the landscapers, bus boys and dishwashers in my neighborhood. We could do it even cheaper if we impose fines on the employer to cover the bounty and pay for the trip home.

We have thousands of school buses that sit virtually idle in the summer. We could organize a shuttle system to take them south. We could put New Orleans' Mayor Nagin in charge. Okay, maybe not.

Talk is cheap. Bush has no solution because he has to ride the political barbed wire fence. The Democrats will fight against anything he proposes to change anyhow.

A real change to deterr illegal immigration is to severely penalize employers who hire illegal immigrants.

A real change is that ENFORCING the current laws can solve the problem. Too many people in positions of responsibility are looking the other way when they could be really making a difference.

A real change is that American citizens need to be more vigilant and press Law Enforcement into acting upon citizen tips.

I take it he didn't mention his Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico?

Aw, shucks. He's far too modest.

Bush had his appointed Social Security Commissioner, in June, 2004, sign a totalization agreement with Mexico that will, among other things, allow:

Now I wonder why didn't he mention this?

Sad to say, Bush is either the most obtuse President since Carter(the worst we ever had), or he is into an evil, globalist mode. I can't crawl inside his mind, so I will just say this. If this invasion is not stopped, and soon, it won't matter who is on the Supreme Court, it won't matter about social security, or our schools, because our culture and identity will have been plundered by riff raff who have no allegiance whatsoever to America.

First, lets secure the border.

Thats Bush's job as Commander-in-Chief under the Constitution.

We can discuss all this other stuff - afterwards

I see Bush is now thanking all those working on border security. ???? That would be the Minutemen??? He called them vigilantes not long ago.

Next year I'm sending NOTHING to the GOP. I'll make my contributions to the Minutemen, maybe Tancredo, and other conservative organizations such as the NRA. Tancredo is the only main stream politician I'll consider sending anything to.
