"Tell that to 99% of Republicans in the State."
Tell 99% of Republicans in California to vote next time around.
Maybe Arnie's people should have done that?
I thought that was their job....being in power and all...
Maybe we should take up a collection and buy Arnie a sign for his desk:
"The buck never stops here!"
Those measures lost because Arnold wrongly tried to get them in traditionally low turn-out off-time election after stimulating campaign rage in well organized union activist units all over the state. They already had their battle plan in place from the June 1998 Primary Election where they defeated Prop 226, a nearly identical measure!!!
You guys are really starting to make yourselves look kinda uninformed by pushing that "New Republican Majority" spin-o-rama against CA conservatives in all it's glorious wrongness!!! Get a grip and check out the facts before you go off the deep end next time, ok???
100% of the Republicans in California can vote all they want in the next "special election", the results will be the same because you are OUTNUMBERED by the Democrats in California. When you have referendum votes in a "special election" and try to GOTV of each's party's "base" in California, the Dems will ALWAYS win based on simple statistics of who has MORE voters.
Had your musclehead "fiscal conservative" Governor not WASTED millions on a "special election" and instead WAITED a few months for a REGULAR election, he would have had a chance of his referendums passing. Independent voters are far more likely to show up in REGULAR elections, and then can be swung to the GOP.
But nah, you California Republicans wanted to try to GOTV of your "base" for a "special election" in a state where you are outnumbered 2-1. Brilliant move, guys!
