Aww come on you guys! Don't you get it yet. If anyone had said he was un-American the Dems and 5th Column would have jumped on the old "see if you dissagree they (the Right) say you're unpatriotic." If anyone had questioned his war record, they would have started the whole "SwiftBoat, but he's a war hero" argument. We can't win those arguments!

We did win the vote though and now every one of those idiots is eating crow while we seem to be above the frey.

It reminds me of a scene in CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. The President's friend has just been killed by Columbian Drug lords for stealing the money he was supposed to be laundering for them. The President is all worried about how it will look and all his advisors are saying "Play down your relationship." When good ol Jack Ryan jumps in with NO! If they ask if you were friends say you were GOOD friends. If they ask were you good friends say LIFELONG friends. Give them no place to go and let the facts speak for themselves.

All it does is keep the argument on topic and emotion out of it.

Ann Coulter:

If Republicans were one-tenth as rough with the congressman who wants to withdraw troops in the middle of a war as they are on a congresswoman who calls it cowardly to withdraw troops in the middle of a war, we might have a functioning Republican Party.

Nailed It!

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately  on  my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about). Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

Ann is smart enough to understand that the two "parties" are one and the same. Shame she is not intellectually honest enough to say so.

Coulter has just expressed the reason why I'm not giving so much as a dime to the Republican fundraisers. I'll vote for Republicans (if I like them), but I will not write checks to support this kind of nonsense. Republicans are in control of the House and the Senate--not to mention the Presidency. If they can't lead, maybe they shouldn't run next time, and make way for someone who CAN.

Well, it's a bit like Marc Antony calling Caesar's murderers "Honorable Men" before he denounced them to the mob. They are a bunch of wussies though. Roman Senate, same way.

Can't Republicans disagree with a Democrat who demands that the U.S. surrender in the middle of a war without erecting monuments to him first?

The vote was 403-3. The Republicans disagreed with Murtha on POLICY, while making it clear that they were not personally attacking the man. That was the correct approach. Ann, however, has bought into the notion that it's not enough to disagree on policy; vicious personal attacks are necessary. That's 'Rat logic; we're better than that (although she isn't).

In order to make her point, she had to quote Henry Hyde on his praise only, and leave out the remark that "among his great qualities, infallibility is not one of them." Ann has become an intellectually dishonest attack dog who plays to emotion, not logic. She's no better than the 'Rats who can't do anything other than launch personal attacks.

I can't wait for the day when the President makes Ann his Sister Souljah.

And I'm sure everyone here remembers that at one time Benedict Arnold was a great hero.

Whether the call for immediate withdrawal is cowardly or not is not the point.

The point is that the call for immediate withdrawal will be seen as cowardly by our enemy.

Yawn.

Yet another of the continuous and self defeating "Mommy ... they are picking on me" articles.

Will Conservatives ever learn to stand up and face the fact that the enemy is the Left and in the U.S.A. it is spelled Democrat?

What bothered me about the overly fulsome praise of Murtha by both the President and the Veep is that a. it was labeled "an apology" by the MSM, and b. neither the President nor Dick Cheney had said anything about Murtha's "patriotism" for which they needed to apologize, or even explain. The "counterattack" that Mssrs Bush and Cheney were spearheading wasn't about Murtha's cut and run plan, it was about the Democrats who were attempting to "revise history" by creating the myth that "President Bush lied" about the presence of WMDs in Iraq - an entirely distinct and separate issue. While it's true that Mr. Cheney rejected Murtha's strategic vision (or lack thereof), and even went so far as to suggest (IIRC) that we not "cower" before terrorists (a word that was "parsed" into calling Murtha a "coward" by the MSM), the point that the Vice President (and Mr. Bush) were trying to drive home had nothing to do with Murtha's "retreat over the horizon" proposal.

We also know what Rep. Randy Cunningham , R-Calif., did to earn his medals. One of only two American Navy aces that the Vietnam War produced, Cunningham shot down five MiGs, three in one day, including a North Vietnamese pilot with 13 American kills.

Cunningham shot down Colonel Tomb? Thats pretty bad@$$.

Schmidt's precise words were: "I received a call from Col. Danny Bubp. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do." Bubp later said -- pointlessly -- that he was not calling Murtha a coward. Neither was Jean Schmidt. (These guys are very brave facing down the VC, but cower before the MSM.)

Our guys hand their manhood to the MSM on a silver platter. It's ugly.
