Kennedy Appointment is Outrageous
California Republican Assembly ^ | 11-30-2005 | Mike Spence, President of the California Republican Assembly

Posted on 11/30/2005 6:12:08 PM PST by Amerigomag

The appointment of Susan Kennedy as Chief of Staff to the Governor is a betrayal of the hard working activists that supported the Governor during the recent special election. Kennedy has a track record as an active partisan Democrat that has worked contrary to Republican candidates and beliefs.

Those of us who supported the recall of Gray Davis now find one of his top operatives, Susan Kennedy as the leader of Schwarzenegger staff. Not only did she work for Davis, but Kennedy is plagued by her involvement in the Oracle scandal.

This is a dangerous false start for the Governor, not a fresh start.

The California Republican Assembly Board of Directors will be voting on a resolution calling for the California Republican Party's withdrawal of their pre-primary endorsement of the Governor.

When is your appointment to assimilate with the Borg?

Uh... I'm guessing that's a science fiction reference? (Never read the stuff, myself.) Sorry. I don't get your meaning.

"Sadly, I've decided that most politicians are corrupt, and no, it is not because the MSM has put that thought in my head. It's because I've studied many and have come to that sad conclusion".

You are not alone. Go back to Perot. I think the American people were thinking the same thing you are now. We tried to show our displeasure with both parties, but it turned out bad, with Clinton being the benefactor. Now we have put our hopes on Busch #2, and also in Arnold, in the case of Californians. No leader can stand without people who are loyal and will back him/her to the end. But how can people back someone who consistently ignores their wishes, much as we may like that person?
Do we, the people, have a say in what kind of a country we want to live in, or are we at the mercy of those in power to tell us what we will have?

I gotta give FO credit 'cause he/she, of all the AS fans from the recall, has hung around to continue arguing on Arnold's behalf & suffer the consequences.

Especially sonce all the rest of his FR fans, the ones who where SO certain they were right, and who slung so much crap during the elections have long since scurried for the cracks in the floorboards.

Not a Sci Fi person, Oh well.

The Borg were a technologically based species that sought to bring humans into their existence, thus if one acquiesced to them or assimilated by accepting their technical modifications to their bodies, they were then considered one with the Borg, ie. heartless, cold, strict creatures of techno habit.. much like many of the occupants of the state governemnt in California.

Moderates don't like heat maybe, they usually do more damage than good anyway.

She doesn't seem to be suffering too badly if she/he makes this latest appointment out as no big deal on face value in her/his book.

It lends further credence to my observations that their are GLBT and GanGReen operatives working at FR and wasting a lot of folks time trying to play both sides of the table.

We have this big time talk host on KFBK in Sacto that fills in for Rush occasionally named Tom Sullivan. He's as much of a A.S. sichophant as F.O. and came on today all charged up that this was the slickest, most intelligent move to take the leadership of the state back from politics he'd ever seen... yada yada yada!!!

Suddenly he had one of the best female callers I've EVER heard call in to him and rake him over and up and down the coals. She said she was a hot blooded Republican woman and Republican women did NOT like their Governors to be PW and this deal made A.S. look more PW'ed than any male leader she'd ever seen in her life!!!

She would not let up and she did not back off and soon had ol cool, calm and collected Sullivan back peddling as fast as he could go... Funniest show on record and is sure to make "The Best Of Tom Sullivan" for sure!!!

Susan Kennedy:

1972:  At age 12, was inspired by actress Jane Fonda's support of American Indian and free-speech causes and opposition to the Vietnam War.

1977:  Lived in Lancaster, Pa., within the evacuation zone of Three Mile Island.  Developed a distrust of the establishment

1979: Enrolls and subsequently drops out of Millersville State College in Pennsylvania "because she was partying too much."

1980:  Moved cross country to join Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden's "Campaign for Economic Democracy," a breeding ground for political training in campaigning, fundraising and field organizing, leading to a series of jobs and becoming one of the state Democratic Party's top field organizers.

198x-1991: Executive director of the California Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League

1991-1994:  Executive director of the California Democratic Party, selected by then party chairman, Phil Angelides

1992:  Helped lead one of the biggest get-out-the-vote campaigns which put Feinstein in the Senate and helped put Bill Clinton in the presidency.

1993: Political director for Kathleen Brown seeking office of California Governor.

1995 to 1998: Worked as communications director to Democratic U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

1995:  Begins program of recovery from alcohol addiction

1998:  Director of the California Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign, a grass-roots campaign effort for 1998 election.

1998:  Appointed Cabinet secretary by Governor Gray Davis.  She was credited with managing the Democratic governor's initiatives on child support enforcement, energy conservation and health care, among other issues.  Reportedly, she promoted Gray Davis' energy plans in 2001, and issuance of $12 billion in bonds to purchase more power, warning legislators of "Armageddon."  She also acted as chief negotiator in budget discussions with legislators in 2001, angering many that the Governor did not participate more.  (We all know how those energy and budget matters turned out).

1999:  "Married" in a Maui commitment ceremony to lesbian partner Vicki Marti, a psychotherapist.  Democratic lobbyist and party operative Darius Anderson, her best friend, served as her "best man"

2001: Had an active role in approving a $96-million contract with Oracle Corp. to provide software that state managers did not want or need, an issue raised by state Sen. Tom McClintock during confirmation hearings for her 2003 PUC appointment.

2003:  Appointed to a six-year term on the Public Utilities Commission by Gray Davis, with an annual salary of $114,191.  Meanwhile, Gray Davis also appoints her domestic partner, Vicki Marti, to the California Medical Assistance Commission whose function it is to set hospital Medical rates--a plum job paying an annual salary of $99,000 and requiring only 2 meetings per month.

2005:  Reaches her senior year in college after 13 years of part time study.

"Caught a small portion of Tom Sullivan's show this afternoon discussing this very topic."

Too bad you couldn't have listened just a little longer. Check out my show report in reply #50, below. I was convulsed with laughter after this WOMAN used the "PW" negative sexual descriptor 4 times before Tom could get her off without hitting the kill switch. After she was gone, he says, "I don't think you can say that on the radio, can you?" I think he was smirking at Miss Kitty when he said it...

I need to know more about her. Caught a small portion of Tom Sullivan's show this afternoon discussing this very topic. Apparently Ms. Kennedy was instrumental in the restructuring of workman's comp in CA, and worked very effectively with Schwarzenegger to get this accomplished. She may not be the "ringer" we think she is.

Oh puuuuuhhhhhlease. She was the Executive Director of the California Democrat Party, she was the head of NARAL, she worked for Feinstein. She was at the center of the Oracle Scandal. She was instrumental in the Davis budgets that broke the back of our state economy. She's married to another woman for pete's sake! Stop me when you feel you know enough.

Which probably says more about the current state of Republican politics in California than I could.

Kennedy sounds like she has the personal background and lifestyle of about 60% of the current state government employees in Sacramento.

Let's review the situation:

Starting today, the governor has appointed to head his staff, with authority to hire and fire without his preapproval, a recovering alcoholic, a practicing homosexual activist, the recent head of the opposition party and a person implicated in a massive fraud

Does that about sum it up?

Time for new tactics.

No madam, IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO GET THE HELL OUT OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY and please don't let the door .....

I can't really believe you still believe in that this guy is really not a Dem by a different name.

Look FO. Nobody expects a GOP governor -- or even Gray Davis (and not even a Bill Clinton) -- to commute the multiple murderer Williams's death sentence. Not even me.

Yet I know I'll heave a sigh of relief if he leaves things as they are -- and I'm sure just about every moderate to rightwing voter in the state will too.

But if Arnold goes the blatantly liberal vote-buyer route and commutes the death sentence, what are you going to do then? Will you swallow hard and then come back here and defend such a sell-out?

Better late than never. Spence's reaction reminds me of that of a pastor discovering prostitutes in a bordello. Are they really born political virgins in the California Republican Assembly? Arnold's really a liberal and next year you'll see him hike spending, taxes and regulations. What does he owe the base? Nothing.
