Went to Target yesterday, just to look around and see for myself. I can report no Salvation Army bell ringers, all was quiet in front of the store. It was also was pretty quiet inside the store, no Christmas music and not many customers. No Christmas trees, although I did find a forest of lighted trees with the word "Gatheround" in front of them. Whoever heard of a Gatheround tree??? I left, empty handed and won't bother again, the company is obviously run by a bunch of grinches who are trying to steal Christmas.

Long before this boycot I stopped shopping at Target because they give donations to the abortion industry. Now they can put their money where ever they like but then so can I. We do not have a lot of money and it is important to me what I do with the little that I have. I also do not buy from Levis for the same reason. For some it may not be a big deal but I have friends who have had abortions and I know first hand how tragic it had been for them.

Excuse me but some of you people sound like a bunch of snobs. I shop everywhere Kohl's, Dillard's and at Walmart. And believe me I have met some pretty nasty people at the so called better stores. Anytime I have a problem at any store I go to the manager or call the district manager. People who do not have a lot of money can be just as nice if not nicer than some who think their you know what doesn't stink.

Not I. Every Wal-Mart I've ever had the misfortune to enter is uniformly filthy, crowded, narrow of aisle, and messy as all-get-out.

But the little things will continue to get bigger. they do not want christ in the picture and certainly no the nativity with a mother and a father. Just last night on O'Reilly a woman was telling in her town the local library gave permission to put up Christmas decorations so they put up a Nativity scene. They told her no Mary, no Joseph and no Jesus. So what was left? A barn full of animals. They are fighting it. There is an agenda.

I to went to public school and we started the day with a prayer and even sung religious songs. We also had the ten commandments on the wall. I remember thinking about the tem commandments and knowing that there was right and wrong. We had no school shootings, no teaching was having sex with the students,or nobody I knew way getting oral sex in the closet.Growing up in a violent family those songs and those prayers was comforting to me.

So tell me oh great person of knowledge, what is the root of this?

Are you saying that the world as we know it will end if a minimum wage cashier doesn't say Merry Christmas?

Are you saying those who own a company shouldn't set policy?

I do all my shopping and when finished during the season leave with a Merry Christmas. At that point, it's up to the clerk to respond. Every clerk I have said it to has replied in kind, no matter the store policy.

Frankly, maybe that should be the store policy. If the customer initiates a Merry christmas, the clerk may, not mandated, reply in kind.

but it's more fun to belong to the NATPP. National Association of Terminally Pissed People.

I will honor this boycott of Target as I have done for at least 1 year now. They did not allow Salvation Army Bell Ringers last year either if my memory serves me correctly.

Here we go again. Target banned ALL solicitors outside their stores. And yes that included the Salvation Army s bell ringers. Which is a resonable policy, would you like to have every group imaginable begging for money outside stores. And it is also resonable that they don't want to deal with allowing one group and having other groups taking them to court. I ban all unwanted solicitation, at my door, mailbox, email box, telephone. And if you would actually investigate, Target has links to donate to the Salvation Army on their website. But I understand that far too many Freepers existance is to "boycott" something, anything. And I guess people don't know how to donate to the Salvation Army without bell ringers.

Like I said, you haven't got a clue.

Be that as it may, it is clear that you are on the same island of cluelessness that I am, just on the other side that is more baren of knowledge.

You can't even answer a simple question.

My former employer once held a company luncheon and the company provided the meat, plates, and eating utensils.
We were all told to bring whatever we wanted to bring and encouraged to bring "something different and unusual."

We ended up with a buffet ranging from the normal casserolls to some wild game chili and a few spicy, foreign dishes. It was a great meal. There was something for everyone's taste and IF anyone was offended, he/she didn't say a word about it.
