I posted reality in posts 171 and 178. Rice and others choose to mask that reality with the term "pro-choice" or "mildly pro-choice". That "choice" means that a child dies EVERY time it is exercised. If she had said she was "mildly pro-slavery" or "mildly pro-Nazi", would that have been acceptable? In fact, neither slavery nor Hitler's holocausts come even close to the holocaust and misery of abortion. Relegating abortion to just some other political football to kick around ignores its magnitude.
While Condi Rice may be a good Secretary of State (and even that has truly yet to be seen), I don't think she's conservative enough to be our next president. Certainly, if you compare her to some of the others who will decide to throw their hat in the ring, she shines.
I'm not a 'one issue' voter myself, but her pro-choice stance could turn a lot of people away. It really depends upon what the choice is; if it's Rice v. Hitch Clinton, there's no question for whom I would vote.
I don't like his either. But, as I stated, I'm not a one-issue voter. [So there.]
And what about the crosses for those killed in car accidents every day? Or by diseases? Do they get them too, or just the ones you deem worthy?
You expressed interest as to Condi's view on abortion. These are a few quotes, taken from http://www.4condi.com, that sound promising, that she is a stronger conservative than quotes taken out of context in this post might show:

Now, let's look at these statements. By banning late-term abortions (this would include "partial birth" procedures) coupled with a "Libertarian" viewpoint and a limited federal role, Roe vs. Wade would have to be overturned, or its implications drastically reinterpreted. Considering Dr. Rice's conservative political background and second amendment "absolutist" position (see below); she can be relied upon to nominate conservative judges that would be open to this. And as we all know -- for better or worse, it is the judges, not the president, that will decide the future of Roe vs. Wade. Also, in other abortion-related issues where the President plays a more direct role, Dr. Rice's positions are pro-life and pro-family -- against federal funding of abortions and for parental notification. With a Republican congress, Dr. Rice's policies could be enacted quickly.
Now you all are confusing me. Just a minute ago conservatives and many FREEPERS were calling for her to be fired as Secretary of State because of her "horrible" job (there words not mine). Which thinking are we on now? Let us make up our minds.

If the candidate is not pro-life - I mean, at least Republican Party Platform pro-life - they will not get my vote. Period. And if they don't adhere to the platform especially on major issues such as protecting innocent life, they do not deserve the nomination, the support of the RNC, or the votes of any self-respecting Republican. I refuse to vote for a pro-abortion crony just because the opposing Democrat candidate is truly awful. Run a pro-abort as a Republican (Rice, Guiliani, etc) and the Republicans are guaranteed to lose the White House. And they would deserve to...
I agree with you 100 percent!!!! We will be flamed for our principles, but who cares! We are right on this.
Coming from a family that loves to tease, I understand Bush.
