What about FEMA?

Apart from George Bush's imprimatur, Condi Rice, as estimable as she undeniably is, has not elective experience, is wrong on the cultural issues, and has the charisma of a moonrock. Only George Bush knows for sure, but then only George Bush knew for sure about Harriet Meirs.

Since this comes from a Rice-for-President site, we might take it with a grain of salt.

Abortion is only one issue, and it is not at the top of my list. Of course I would prefer someone who will work against abortion, especially those funded by government. Continuing the WOT, national security, strong military, immigration, federal spending, IRS reform or elimination, husbanding our national resources in a productive way, and are all other factors I consider before voting.

Admittedly W hasn't done well on many of those, at least not from a strict conservative view. But while I disagree with some of his actions, I consider him a strong leader and wink at his judgements where he and I differ.

Same deal with Condi.

It's gonna take a long time and several intermediates before we can exepct to elect a true conservative to the White House. Eventually it WILL happen.

The '08 election is not about abortion. It's about defeating Hillary Rodham.

Some think that. Others (me) will never vote for a pro-abortion candidate. Never.

I wonder what Robert Redford would have thought of this had he known when he posed with Condi the other night.

Love your moniker. I went to a junior hi school named after this brilliant and under appreciated military genius.

One thing that was weird in a goofy sort of way. I was there the first year of REAL desegregation in Alabama. Here you had all these black kids streaming into their first year of HS into a school named for the founder of the Ku Klux Klan. None of us knew, or remembered that. Actually, the KNOW ALABAMA state history books had told us that, but we didn't quite process the connection, and none of the black kids said anything about it.

Of course, during those years we were all too busy trying to be footballs studs and score chicks to worry about that stuff, but anyway.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was a cavalry genius. I understand the "fustest with the mostest" man's tactics are still studied at West Point.

Oh, I relayy don't have time - have to leave work - and really shouldn't start this again but what the hey. Are you saying that if a socialist candidate vowed to stop abortion while another candidate held conservative values an most other issues except abortion, you would vote for the socialist?

How about a democrat, the deceased former governor of PA comes to mind - Bob Casey Sr. He was a democrat who railed against abortion, even tried to speak at a national convention about it but was as "liberal" - the current definition - as they come. Lets say the race in 2008 was between him and Condi. Who would you vote for?

Lets say Hillary claims she's had a relevation and takes an anto abortion stance. She'd be lying of course but like that isn't in the realm of the possible. Let's say it's between Hil and Condi, where do you go?

As I mentioned before abortion is only one issue I consider.

At least they'd be assured of donuts at cabinet meetings.

It should be noted that in first years of our Republic, Secretary of State was the stepping stone to the White House. Thomas Jefferson was Washington's Secretary of State. He barely lost to Adams and spent his "Vice-Presidency" at home until beating Adams (barely) in 1800. Jefferson's Secretary of State was James Madison. His Secretary of State was James Monroe. His Secretary of State was John Qunicy Adams. This shows how the President's job was viewed as primarily dealing with foreign and military matters while domestic matters were left to Congress and the state governments.

All of that changed when Andrew Jackson demonstrated how the Presidency could be used to set an agenda, rally the people, and ram it through Congress. Thus, "King Andrew I" created the modern Presidency.

Beford Forrest didn't start the Klowns, he abolished them the first time, The democrats founded the Klan and installed him as their leader.

This Beford Forrest is almost as clueless as the original one was about the democrats stratergery.

Hillary will run as the first Black female president,(Bill was the first Black president, just ask him) and Condi will run against her, "44" will win.

As the president's right hand man for almost eight years she will have the experiance to do the job when compared to a first lady that let her president bopp an intern in the oval office restroom.

Yeah... that's why we ran Dole in '96 to beat her partner.

I'm afraid it doesn't work that way.

What is your purpose in promoting a founder of the Klan?

I realize he was a war hero, but I don't spend time promoting Hitler's Iron Cross.
