Poll shows DeLay faces political trouble in Texas district(CNN poll, no internals)
CNN ^ | 12/05/05

Posted on 12/05/2005 4:41:50 PM PST by Dane

When registered voters were asked for their opinion of DeLay, 52 percent said it was unfavorable, while just 37 percent said they viewed him favorably. In 2004, despite negative headlines from a string of ethics complaints, DeLay won 55 percent of the vote in the 22nd District, which includes parts of four suburban counties south of Houston. President Bush also easily carried all four counties.

But when registered voters in the new poll were asked whether they were likely to choose DeLay or an unnamed Democrat in the 2006 midterm election, 49 percent said they would pick the Democrat, while just 36 percent said they would likely support DeLay, who has represented the district since 1984. The poll's sampling error was plus or minus 4 percentage points. (Posted 7 p.m.)

How can anything be confirmed when its a CNN poll?

It it's from CNN, the opposite must be true.

DeLay will win re-election easily. It may be closer than the usual landslide. The Rats will be foiled again.

A new CNN poll shows that an overwhelming majority of people would vote for an unnamed candidate rather than [insert name of any politician here].

We know of course that when a real person's name is inserted, the poll always reflects completely different results.

"ronnie earle though will try to drag this out as long as he can."

True, and we can count on CNN to help him.

A little more on this poll:

"The survey also found that 55 percent of registered voters said that the charges that DeLay broke campaign finance laws are definitely or probably true, while 34 percent said they were probably or definitely not true."

CNN editor: "Our smear campaign is working- but we've got to do more!"

52 and 37 do not add up to 100, but 89%. As with most Clintoon Nazi Network polls, they oversample RATs by a margin of over 47% RAT. I figure all the RAT sampling would vote agains DeLay.

If there were 1000 people sampled, and that holds true, 470 would be against him.

11 % are usuaally considered "moderates" and they vote 50/50 which would be about 100 on either side.

The 37% is probably the Republican base that would never vote for any RAT. If you had a 45/45 RAT vs Republicans and split the "moderat vote", DeLay is still even if not ahead.

KERRY 55% - BUSH 43%

CNN/USATODAY/GALLUP POLL

President's approval ratings continue to sag

February 18, 2004

"Bush's slip coincides with growing complaints about slow job growth, accusations that he shirked his National Guard duty in the 1970s, failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and stalled efforts to establish democracy there."

"Political analysts were not surprised at a key finding of the poll: If the presidential election were today, either John Kerry or John Edwards would beat Bush."
