Last week in New York Oriana Fallaci said that the Koran is the Mein Kampf of this movement. The Koran demands the annihilation or subjugation of the other, and wants to substitute totalitarianism for democracy .You will find that all the evil that the sons of Allah commit against themselves and against others is in it."
This statement has caused considerable controversy. Some maintained: There are moderate Moslems
Tarring the whole religion is counterproductive
If there are no moderate muslims, as Fallaci says, then we are doomed. But of course, Fallaci did not say that there were no moderate Muslims; she said that there was no moderate Islam. As Ibn Warraq has said, "There may be moderate Muslims, but Islam itself is not moderate." There are peaceful Muslims who have no intention of working by violent or subversive means to impose Sharia on the West. This does not mitigate the fact that some high-profile moderates, such as Cleveland Imam Fawaz Damra, who signed the recent Fiqh Council of North America's fatwa against terrorism, turned out to be deceivers. Still, to say that the Koran is the Mein Kampf of the jihad movement is not to deny the reality that many, if not most, people who identify themselves as Muslims are primarily interested in living ordinary lives.

There is no doubt that Muhammad meant such verses literally. Nonetheless, the fact that warfare against unbelievers is not a twisting of Islam, but the Islamic mainstream, and is repeatedly affirmed in the Koran, Hadith, example of Muhammad, and rulings of every school of Islamic jurisprudence...
Uh. The Koran pre-dates Mein Kampf.
"...... surprisingly large number of Muslims have scant acquaintance with what it actually says. This is common to a degree that may surprise non-Muslims."
Most people probably didn't know what Mein Kampf said either.....
Most Germans who identified themselves as Nazis were primarily interested in living ordinary lives. The problem was with those who took Nazi ideology seriously.
Ignoring the evil of the system itself is just as dangerous.
Really? Name 20.
More like Mein Kampf is the new Koran.
I posted it but that doesn't mean that I agree with that statement. I am not a big believer in moderate Republican, let alone moderate Muslims, if they exist. I'd put them in the Nessie category.
"Moderate muslim": one who has run out of ammunition.
And my comment was meant to those who made the statment.
And ultimately those who take it seriously will compel the others to do their evil bidding.
having the opposite opinion is suicidal these days
"... surprisingly large number of Muslims have scant acquaintance with what it actually says. This is common to a degree that may surprise non-Muslims."
There are vast areas of our planet that are nominally muslim culturally but remain illiterate in their own language, let alone classical Arabic.
It has been said that no one can truly know the Koran, and therefore know the true word of God, unless he can read Arabic.
I would be interested to know what percentage of the world's self-proclaimed muslims have actually read the Koran, in Arabic. Start there. Then how many of that fraction also are familiar with the Hadith...?
Actually, it would be much more accurate to say that if there are no moderate Muslims, then Islam is doomed.
Islam cannot destroy the West unless we let it. The West, or the US by itself, could utterly destroy Islam in a few hours.
I would be interested to know what percentage of the world's self-proclaimed muslims have actually read the Koran, in Arabic.
How many Christians actually read the Bible?
Islam, religion of death, opression and savagery.
To find out the truth about islam, read The Flanstein
That's rich LOL!
Michael Graham got fired for saying exactly what Fallaci is lauded for saying.
At least it's being said.
