I've already myself added kind words for Bennett to the thread. Reading on through the thread, though, I am pleased to note how many comments show a strong loyalty to his show, even though his #10 position in the pole is not high.
As they say, I'd like to see the "internals" of that pole! (whatever that means...LOL)
He's one of those morons that get all their news while walking around the sewer.
What color is the sky in your world, Cake?
Rush is a decently intelligent man whose schtick is to talk down to his audience but who has performed the great service of getting lots of sheeple into the tent. If you have already learned your ABCs of conservatism, you're not likely to grow your IQ any further listening to Rush, though you may get an occasional chuckle.
One thing that Tony Snow does ~not~ have is style, though I consider that a plus. Tony is a low-key guy with substance. What you said is, in my view, 180 out of alignment with reality, although opinions are like rear orifices, and I apologize in advance for being a little overly confident in mine versus your.
And this is all before the caller has said why they are calling!
I used to have a manager at IBM (remote history) who always said that. I liked him a lot but found the habit a little unctuous, as I do on talk radio. In the league with "Have a nice day" from people with whom you have only fleeting, trivial contact.
Ping.
The ratings don't go that low.
Air America's latest Arbitron rating in Atlanta is 0.0, and still the AJC made a big deal about Franken broadcasting from Atlanta last week with Jimmy Carter and Mayor Shirley Franklin being on his show.
Someone tonight on FOX's media roundtable thingie (and I think it was the excellent Jim Pinkerton) questioned whether Stern's contract was a real, binding contract or a PR ploy. Pretty good question. Contracts written "for performance" can name any ridiculous numbers. I would bet that this is the case. It is Sterns type of hype.
I just don't understand why she(Dr. Laura) is on a Political radio station like XM Radio's "America Right"
LOL!
You might suggest that he give it to charity. I have heard that argument...and it seems that research shows the Bennett family gives more than your probable net worth to charity each year.....
I always thought it was the Democrats that thought they knew how to spend other peoples money better than everyone else...its called wealth transfer payments. Evidently we have a Freeper that thinks that way....
That was my first thought, as well.
"spends most of his time hyping what is coming in the ~next~ hour or tonight's TV show"
You've noticed that too?
Hannity spends more time teasing what's coming up than he spends getting to it.
LOL. Some catch phrases are suited for and indeed do move to everyday usage, but to the office? Did he also ever say "I'm my kids dad?"
Well, make sure you are strapped in when you listen to Savage. Its my favorite show because of his personality, but its not for everybody. His show is the best out there when he is good, but its almost unlistenable when he is bad.
Nobody's perfect and Sean is a bulldog for conservatism, so I'll stick with him.
I like Bill Bennett's low-key, thoughful show. It gets me thinking first thing in the morning. And his voice is perfect for the morning too.
Dr Dean Edell is at the bottom, where he belongs. He's supposed to be giving out medical advice, but can't keep his uber-liberal views to himself.
He's also really good at discussing stuff that little kids don't need to hear, without any warning to parents whatsoever.
