Cool, I'd hang that right next to my original copy of the Declaration of Independence

Throw in a lock of Abe's hair and I'll consider it.

One would need one of those Black Cards (credit cards with no upper limit that are only given, by invitation, to people who spend over 150K/yr on credit cards and are of sufficient net worth) to even think of buying this document with a CC. With a Black Card one could technically charge this document (although I have always wondered just how far the 'no limit' thing really holds ....eg what if a holder tries to charge a 100 million dollar Yacht?)

Anyways, I'd love to have this document ....I have a copy posted up at my place, but I am pretty certain it is not the original (lol). Unless I got a whale of a deal.

On Nov. 15th, Christie's sold the "authorized edition" of the Emancipation Proclamation for $688,000.

There are approximately 15 surviving copies in permanent public collections, and Christie's is aware of only two other copies in private hands.

Seems like a big step from $688,000 to half a million. I wonder what makes this guys worth "so" much more?

Credit card payments are accepted through paypal.

PayPal are going to love that. They take 10% on the seller's end

Me thinks this feller is going to be facing a fraud charge.

Like your going to sell one of only two copies of the EP on Ebay nest door to a 1996 BMW.

By the way I have the original Ark of the Covenant in my basement. Anyone interested?

This is what it says:

Only forty-eight copies of this “Authorized Edition” were printed and signed by Lincoln. We cannot be sure how many survived the war, or its aftermath.  In all probability, about half still exist, most by now in museums and libraries.

Another copy of this signed edition sold in November 2005 at Christie’s.  The one we are offering is in much better condition, with full margins.  Feel free to email or call us for details.

Check it out, he's also selling a parchment about "Alexander Hamilton Writes on a Family Financial Dispute" ($4,400). That sure would go nice next to that Emancipation Proclamation. Or if you are already strapped for cash after that $1.5m purchase, you can pick up this great deal of a photo of "ABRAHAM LINCOLN RALLY AROUND THE FLAG - Harper's Weekly" for a mere $200. Better go check my matress and see how much is left in it.

Don't bid on it unless your humble abode is protected by a multi-million dollar security system. :-)
