Bolivian Could Be a 'Nightmare' for U.S.

CARACOLLO, Bolivia - As a little boy in Bolivia's bleak highlands, Evo Morales used to run behind buses to pick up the orange skins and banana peels passengers threw out the windows. Sometimes, he says, it was all he had to eat. Now, holding the lead ahead of Sunday's presidential election, he's threatening to be "a nightmare for the government of the United States."

It's not hard to see why. The 46-year-old candidate is a staunch leftist who counts Cuba's Fidel Castro and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez among his close friends. Moreover, he's a coca farmer, promising to reverse the U.S.-backed campaign to stamp out production of the leaf that is used to make cocaine.

With his Aymara Indian blood and a hatred for the free-market doctrines known to Latin Americans as neo-liberalism, Morales in power would not only shake up Bolivia's political elite, but strengthen the leftward tide rippling across South America.

Gotta love those cocaine-dealing wanna-be dictators.

I am curious why so much South American anti-US politics has developed so extensively in the last couple of decades.

"With his Aymara Indian blood and a hatred for the free-market doctrines"

Yet he wants to grow cocoa leaves, and market cocaine in these capitolist marketing systems. What a hypocrate.

What the heck is it about Leftism that destroys rational thinking? it's like Islam! Yet people vote for these idiots, them wonder why all of a sudden these "leaders" form little armies of thugs and they remain poor and victims of opression.

So let him destroy that stupid landlocked country. Just don't give them any foreign aid when it turns out they don't have any hard currency to buy food or medicine or anything else. I just don't think that Latin Americans will ever really figure out that the successful countries in this world are those that have adopted free-market capitalism.

It is because leftism is a RELIGION - not a logical, reality-based set of policies. And, like all religions, facts do not matter - only what you believe.

"I am curious why so much South American anti-US politics has developed so extensively in the last couple of decades."

They are inspired by American Leftist lunatics who go down there and hold mock trials to hang the president. These traitors go there to spread sedation among the locals because that's the only place where they can find an audience that thinks they are smart.

In truth, there is alot of Islamic fundamentalist activity in that tri border area. It's a major smuggling route where it's easy to dissapear into three different countris, with a nice little no man's land area between them all.

It is a curious notion indeed. If they are successful with achieving the demise of the USA they all seem to want so bad, who's gonna buy their cocaine? (and coffee)

Here's something you might like It's spot on:

Man Is God: The Left's Basic Premise

George the Third was the undisputed King of Great Britain; of that there can be no doubt. If it is true that pride goeth before a fall, then the King’s arrogance cost him his American colonies, and much, much more; George the Third lost his mind as a result of hubris, and ended up confined in an insane asylum, mad as a March Hare. This cautionary tale reflects an even greater fall, one which we are in the privileged position of witnessing: the collective mental breakdown of the Liberal Movement. We are witnessing the madness of the postmodern King!

Liberalism has been King for a very long time. Liberalism has been the driving force in the West since the 18th Century, and gained almost complete ascendancy in the 20th, where it reigned almost unchallenged from the 1930s until the 1980s. The power of the Left derived from its control of the dissemination of information, and leftsists’ understanding of the value of propaganda has always propelled their Kingship. They have come to consider their rule as being by Darwinian Right, and grew smug in their assurance of power. To their utter amazement, the reign of the left has come to an end, and like poor King George they are suffering an acute mental breakdown.

What has happened to the Left? Like Teddy Kennedy, they seem to have driven off the bridge of sanity into the dark waters of madness, becoming incapable of grasping the reality of the world around them. We see evidence of this everywhere we look these days; from Dan Rather`s insistence that his National Guard documents were valid even though forged, to Senator Joe Biden arguing on Meet the Press to bring Iran in to help with Iraqi reconstruction, to the Democrats’ hope for a “Merry Fitzmas”, in the deification of Cindy Sheehan, the mad rantings of Dick Durban, and the backstabbing of former President Jimmy Carter. We see it in the “wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time” comments by John Kerry and by the stubborn refusal to accept that we are actually at war.

We see it in the refusal of the Left to accept the results of the elections of 2000 and 2004, of their unwillingness to believe they are not in power. We see it in the standing ovation given by many Democrats to Michael Moore`s insane propaganda, in the “all about Halliburton”/”Bush lied to get us into war” view of Iraq. We see it in the attempt to equate running the air conditioning at Gitmo with Saddam`s torture chambers.

There seems to be a refusal among liberals to believe in reality these days. It is as if an entire segment of the population has lost their collective minds. Just what is happening?

An entire segment of the population has lost its collective mind. According to author Phillip K. Dick, reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away. Using this benchmark to judge the sanity of the Left, it becomes apparent that they have, indeed, lost their cats-eyes and pearly whites. The modern Liberal is madder than a haberdasher at a Lewis Carroll tea party.

How did this happen?

Read it all to find out.

In the case of Bolivia you would have to look at this threat as you would Iraq. You cannot allow a country to target you as if you were at war without responding.

The only saving grace in this particular situation is that Bolivia has more Coups per year than we have hurricanes per year.

Chavez exports oil. Morales will export cocaine. And the next President of Mexico is cut from the same cloth - but he will export people.
