banners read We want Referundum
Justice without Democracy means nothing
Justice and Bread for every one
Universities are aware
But these are nice photos, thanks for posting them.
Help us free our country!
Help us make the world safer
They are on our side!
btw, that Commie label doesn't apply to Iranian students.
We're different than those students in the US protesting the Iraq war or Pres. Bush
We want our freedom!
A non-moonbat university protest? I am intrigued and wish to learn more.
I thought it odd that sign was written in english in a country where virtually no one speaks english.
A little pimping for the media I suppose.
Brave people. Hope they are free soon.
Exactly. Pro-freedom or pro-Che?
Good luck to the students, though I fear for their chances under their nation's current leadership. Tough times may be ahead, but if Iraq can have the beginnings of a democracy, anything is possible.
Yeah, that's the sad thing about seeing such code phrases as "bread for all" and such. But here's hoping those phrases don't mean the same thing there.
In college I remember the Iranian students protesting the Shah, then they got what they wanted... Ayatollah Khomeini (sp?)... I guess this would be the sons daughters and grandkids of the first group who aren't very happy with what their elders achieved for them.
I have known two Iranians personally. I must say, they are two of the finest, most gracious, capable, and accomplished people I have ever known. I hope very much that someday you will have the freedom that our own President Carter denied you through his perfidy.
Many people here speak english fluently!
I truly hope so. I've seen too much from the democracy movements in Islamic countries that make me very nervous that they are looking to join the leftists, which would create an "out-of-the-frying-pan and into the fire type scenario. I pray you are right.
4000 students were arrested during June 2003 protests!
Let freedom ring!
Apologies. Most here at FR know that.
in Iran, we want social justice, true democracy, rule of law and human rights!
Thank you for the pictures. Prayers for the students. If Iraq can be free, Iran WILL also become a democracy.
Ditto that for sure. The democracy movement is Iran's only hope and I only pray that the US administration is giving it support...under OR over the radar. We don't want to see innocent Iranians killed because of the words and/or actions of its government.
Wish I knew what the signs said.
I pray that Iran finds peace and the freedom of democracy.
I am afraid there is no outside support for our freedom loving students (PEOPLE)
I can translate them for you
Just let me know which one you want to know about
Tell me who your heroes are.
I hate the fact that they have them locked inside of the universities. It's time for the rest of the Iranian people to join them in their fight.
You have our admiration and our prayers. May peace and safety go with your courageous journey to freedom!
Check my profile if you want to know!
What would you rather have in Iran, Communism or Islamic Fascism?
I pray you receive them without bloodshed.
Unfortunately, freedom is not free. Fighting for it is the only way to achieve it.
You are very wrong about that. But still, I want to know who are the heroes of your movement.
It's possible that these students are some of the best friends we could ever have in the Middle East. I pray they are successful. They want freedom and risk their lives at these protests.
Thank you. All of them. Especially the one the young girl is holding.
Akbar Ganji and other political prisoners
If you want something a bit more material, let us know what you need and where to send it.
A member of Free Republic. Let us know what you think.
It is late where I am. I'm going to bed.
Please write your elected officials and tell them that Iranians need their support, Please write to President Bush and tell him he has to do more than he is doing right now.
Please ask the US government to help us gather the opposition in exile and form an Iranian version of Iraq's INC
We need to be heard! We need to be seen!
We can not do much in Iran. It is getting worse every single day and I am afraid the US and Israel will attack our beloved country soon and many many die.
All we want is a peaceful democracy in accordance with the rest of the world!
I know DoctorZIn and he knows me too
It is great though
Well, our MSM seems to think three naked PETA girls make a revolution -- BIG news.
How about tens of thousands of young Iranians marching in the streets? And our media ignores it.
And being jailed for life, with worse torture than panties on your head?
Just for speaking your mind?
I may be a dumb hillbilly, but I know a plan when I see one -- and George W. Bush has a plan for the Middle East.
It won't be about bombing, or "occupation," as some like to call it. It'll be just what he says it is, "A taste of freedom."
About 15 years ago, I sat next to an Iranian (she said call it EERAN, not Iran) woman in a restaurant in Dallas, and she explained to me the specifics of what happened in Iran in the 1970s, and, basically foretold what is happening there now.
We need to support this movement in Iran. The people will overthrow the mullas, and we'll have the support next door in Iraq to back 'em up.
Somehow, stupid, lazy and bored Americans trying to save chickens (PETA) just don't seem as important to me as a whole nation begging for the taste of freedom our President speaks about.
Your heros (or at least worthy of mention on your homepage) include a supermodel, George Washington, Abe Lincoln and Pink Floyd?
Your welcome in my home any day.
Great page. Loved the photo of Tehran with the mountains in the background.
Someday Iran will be free, and please accept my prayers for your strengh and wisdom.
Iran will be the first full secular society in the Middle East
I don't think that's the choice. So my answer is "neither". Although in Africa, at least, communism mostly lead to countries imploding and not to their exporting terror. But that's a textbook choice, not the one I expect we'll have in real life. (from a fellow Massachusetts GOP-er)
And you have many of us behind you, we support you.
My heroes do not include that super model or Pink Floyd!
Of course I'd rather have Benjamin Franklin or Abraham Lincoln as my heroes.
I am fond of your constitution and the way your society works
I had to put something in my page to make it understandable for the average joe living in this planet
Thanks for the compliment any how
Ganji is a good guy and should be freed. I apologize if I sounded suspicious. Please keep us all informed of what is going on in Iran. We DO support the freedom movement.
thanks for the support
