No Holocaust repeat, Israel tells Iran
The Daily Telegraph ^ | December 14, 2005

Posted on 12/15/2005 2:17:47 AM PST by F14 Pilot

ISRAEL urged the world to "open its eyes" to the Iranian regime and its nuclear programme after its outspoken president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described the Holocaust as a "myth".

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's spokesman pledged that Israel had the means to defend itself and would not allow for a second genocide of Jews.

"Thank God, Israel has the means at its disposal to bring about the downfall of this extremist regime in Iran. There will be no second 'final solution'," Sharon's spokesman Raanan Gissin said.

"We hope that these extremist declarations will make the world wake up to the nature of this regime -- especially the fact that Iran's nuclear programme and its support of international terrorism, represents not only a danger for Israel but for the entire Western civilisation."

The comments came after Ahmadinejad said in a speech that "they have invented a myth that Jews were massacred" and said the Jewish state should be moved as far away as Alaska.

Ahmadinejad also caused uproar in Israel and the international community in October when he called for the Jewish state to be "wiped off the map".

"We hope these extremist comments by the Iranian president will make the international community open its eyes and abandon any illusions about this regime," foreign ministry spokesman Mark Regev said to AFP.

"Israel is calling once more for Iran's nuclear programme to be submitted by the International Atomic Energy Agency to the UN security council" and for the imposition of sanctions, added Regev.

Ahmadinejad's comments reflected a "perverse vision of the world held by this regime and underline the danger should such an extremist regime have a nuclear capacity in the future."

Israel has consistently called for international action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, with its chief of staff Dan Halutz claiming yesterday that Tehran would have all the necessary knowledge to build a nuclear warhead within three months.

Israel is widely believed to possess around 200 nuclear warheads, making it the only nuclear power in the Middle East, although it has never admitted having atomic weapons.

Israel has many friends among the common people of Iran. It's a damned shame that Iran's truly deranged leadership is going to bring such pain and sorrow down on the heads of those common people. But if it must be, it must be.

This is for sure true. There must be a intelligent strategy how to deal with this problem and how to kill Ahmadinejad and his buddies without too many losses.

Are you serious? I live in Egypt and have traveled throughout the region, and I haven't found a single Muslim who likes anything about Israel (except for the Sinai tourist industry that makes a ton of money off of Israelis).

Muslims don't like Israel because they're told to hate them; it's ingrained into them from the time they can walk.

Egyptians are probably still smarting over the butt-whuppin' Israel handed them back in the late '60's.

Iranians aren't Arabs, as I'm sure you know. Here's a quote from an Iranian, Alireza Nourizadeh (my underline):
As far as the Iranian people are concerned I think the Iranian people showed many, many times that they do not share the regime’s animosity towards the West particularly towards the Iraqi state. Particularly after nine-eleven, thousands of Iranians, they got to the street with their candles in their hands, and they expressed their sympathy and love to the American people. And also they do not share the regime’s hatred and animosity toward Israel. I think for the majority of Iranians, Israel is a natural ally for Iran as it was before the revolution. Therefore, I think what has happened, perhaps Mr. Ahmadinejad thought he’s going to get -- this kind of expression will satisfy his audience and his constituency; Revolutionary Guards and intelligence service employees and all of these people. But I’m sure the reaction of the Iranian people -- even President Khatami in a way, criticized him -- I don’t think the Iranian people are going to accept such a remark and they don’t believe Mr. Ahmadinejad is entitled to represent them. They don’t want him to be the president of Iran, and if there is a real referendum or election, then you will see to whom the Iranian people are going toward.

No, they're not. I saw a documentary the other day and the Egyptians actually have a museum to celebrate their "victory" in the 1973 war.

I wish the French, the Germans, and the Democrats would wake up. Besides, their lack of support for the war on terror caused this idiot to get so uppity in the first place.

This guy running Iran is a real nut case....

He even has the Europeans tsking around like a bunch of barnyard hens. However, I hope the Israelis dont confuse their condemning Iran now as support for Israel later. I think the Israelis are smart enough to know the Europeans will turn on them the second they take any act of self defense.

Having said that, I wish the Israelis the best in their work to destroy Iran's nuclear capability. God speed!

Message to Bush and Rumsfeld: Israel will likely need some sort of refueling help in Iraq. Make sure it happens.

"There must be a intelligent strategy how to deal with this problem and how to kill Ahmadinejad and his buddies without too many losses."

I recall a few years ago when we turned some terrorist in Yemen into a grease stain on the pavement with one of our wonder weapons. The tradeoff to doing something like this with Hitler junior is that the Republicans would probably lose the house and senate next year. Wouldn't want to pi$$ off Kerry, Lenin, McCain and their fellow travelers you know. Plus the MSM wouldn't like it.

Steven Plaut offers some nice tunes on how to make peace with Iran the old-fashioned way;-):

Bomb Iran
(to the tune of "Barbara Ann" by the Beach Boys)

Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, BOMB IRAN!
Let's take a stand, bomb Iran.
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

Went to a mosque, gonna throw some rocks.
Tell the Ayatollah..."Gonna put you in a box!"
Bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

Ol' Uncle Sam's gettin' pretty hot.
Time to turn Iran into a parking lot. Bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

Call the volunteers; call the bombadiers;
Call the financiers, better get their ass in gear.
Bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

Call on our allies to cut off their supplies,
Get our hands untied, and bring em' back alive. Bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, BOMB IRAN!
Let's take a stand, bomb Iran.
Our people you been stealin'
Now it's time for keelin', bomb Iran.
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

I'll Bomb Iran Tonite
"I Love a Rainy Nite" Based on the performance by Eddie Rabbitt
"I'll Bomb Iran Tonite" Parody by Dr. Bob
I'll bomb Iran Tonite

Well, I'll bomb Iran tonite
Before the morning light
I don't think its a blunder
Watch the napalm
As it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good.

One time is plenty. Iran inspired much of the extremist terrorism in the past quarter century. I'm thinking we could really drop Jimmy Carter on them. They'd appreciate the gift.

You're behind the times. Do some reading about the attitudes of the ordinary people of Iran (not the clerics or the government or the Revolutionary Guards). Many (not all, not even most, but many) ordinary Iranians love the United States and have a positive attitude towards Israel.
