Sounds to me like the proper first steps are proposed in this legislation.
AZ angle to House-approved fence... Ping.
Rep. Jim Kolbe, R-Ariz., said the proposed bill "does nothing to solve the real problems of immigration. In fact, it's worse than nothing.
"It's worse than nothing because it tries to fool the public. It pulls the wool over their eyes. It pretends we are doing something to secure our border when in fact we are doing nothing except throw words and money at the problem."
A 300 mile fence is only, at most, a 150 mile detour for illegals
Glad this gay queen is hanging it up on brokeback mountain. His own cabin was vandalized by illegals but he wants more. Might be a personal choice of trade.
There's a hole in the hull below the waterline and the ship is sinking.
First we put a cover backed with structure over the hole to largely stem the flow and then start bailing and man the pumps. Then we do a proper hull repair.
Finally, if we need water, it'll be taken from the sea and properly filtered before use.
I like the analogy..
Yeah!
I didn't see it in the article, but this is on top of several miles of Normandy Barriers already in place in the National Parks along the border.
Great first step, and wonderful news about Jim Kolbe deciding not to chance defeat in this go'round!
Seems to work for the Israelis. A good start for Arizona.
"Now lets see what kind of spine the Senate has???"
It was removed, reduced to bone meal, and sold for fertilizer years ago.

It was removed, replaced with raw fertilizer. The original spine was reduced to bone meal, and sold for fertilizer years ago. Most Committee members have adjusted to the new odor with no signs of distress, quite similar to steers after castration as calves.
>>On Friday, Republican leaders wouldn't allow a vote on the volatile citizenship proposal.<<
Now we need to push for English Only and stopping the 'anchor baby' idiocy.
This is a good start. If we don't secure the borders FIRST, then the "guest worker program" will fail as miserably as previous attempts have failed.
If we don't secure the borders FIRST, then any guest worker legislation will cause a FLOOD of illegals pouring across the borders, exponentially adding to the problems.
Secure the borders FIRST. If the Republican majorities and the Republican administration can't do that, then we throw them out in 2006 and 2008. It's that simple.
It's not as complicated as the pro-illegals politicians are trying to make it sound. We don't have to do EVERYTHING at once, like they say when we tell them to secure the borders first.
If we don't secure the borders FIRST, then the destruction of the U. S. A is certain.
That's a fact!
The roll call votes are up. Hayworth voted against the bill, he said, because it didn't do enough. The rest are the usual suspects.

The next thing many of us want to hear is that they will go ahead and address the "anchor baby" invasion and put a stop to it. We simply cannot afford to support invaders anymore.
Moooo. Si. ;-)
