Pres. Bush was just on LIVE - he's mad (vanity)
12-17-05

Posted on 12/17/2005 7:26:12 AM PST by STARWISE

He's mad .. and rightfully so. Without any notice, his Sat. radio address was televised live. He's putting Congress and the press on notice that he's got the authority to do what he's done to protect US .. that Congress was notified at least a dozen times about these NSA oversights .. and that the press leaks and any such security leaks are illegal and are aiding and abetting the enemy. Whoo .. fireworks to come, and go get 'em W!

You get 'em, Mr. President! Get mad AND get even.

He needs to bring this anger and passion to his Sunday address to the nation and get the American people fired up and rallying for him. He can do it.

Send emails to the NYTimes, calling them the traitors they are. This is beyond disgraceful -- the NYTimes and the democrats are working in support of the terrorists, and some RINOs too. I'm glad the President has spoken out forcefully on this issue. Now lets round up the leakers and put them in jail where they belong.

I've read it a couple of times now and still don't see where Ms. Loven writes that the President informed Congress several times. Guess it detracts from her story.

Without identifying specific lawmakers, Bush said congressional leaders have been briefed more than a dozen times on the program's activities.

The funny thing is, given Specter's comments yesterday it leaves no doubt that Bush doesn't count him as one of the "congressional leaders".

He said the part about Congressional leaders being briefed was buried far down in the NYT article but it was there in black and white.

Thanks for the info. Just another brick in the wall.

We obviously have some terrorist supporters in the US Senate and it's time they were rounded up and taken out in chains. I want to see a prosecution come out of this leak and I want to find out who leaked the information on CIA prisons and I want them exposed for what they are. Enemies of the United States of America.

I just sent Michelle's article around to my e-mail group; thanks for linking it here. I'd read it early this morning and not done anything with it.

Yup .. it was mentioned after W's surprise speech that the NYSLIMEs piece is actually an excerpt from the book that's coming out in Jan. from one of their writers. They never cease to be predictable, do they? I hope this causes Safire
to finally leave them. And I hope the DOJ gets involved very quickly in running down these seditious acts ... let Fitzie chase something really serious.

This WAS a highly classified program. Keyword is WAS...

Question to think about, imagine you are the president and you are aware of the leak...several days later you are briefed that the 'suspects/spys' that were being monitored have fallen silent...

Your nation is now literally in the dark and National Security has been totally compromised, not only here in the US, but in Iraq and around the globe.

Look at the sixth paragraph. It's easy to miss. Of course we know that isn't intentional....

This President has woefully mismanaged the use of the awesome, and nearly unlimited, War Power of the United States.

By January 1, 1942 President Roosevelt had full press censorship, a 24/7 Federal propaganda machine, was reading the mail, and was threatening (credibly) sedition prosecutions. Shortly thereafter, he detained indefinitely American citizens suspected of sympathy with the enemy and seized their property, forbade use of the US mails for disseminating objectionable opinions and information, had foreign agents on our territory shot without trial, and denaturalized and deported thousands of US citizens.

All of these actions were subsequently found to be constitutional in a series of Supreme Court decisions.

Not good enough! Bush needs to release the name of every Marxist Congressman who was given this info, including the days and times of each notification.

McCain at times can be very useful, IMHO. I don't hold the view that the President "folds", ever. He's a card counter master with years and years of experience. The game is always larger than the present hand, IME and IMHO.
