An Algerian with suspected links to al-Qaida was today jailed for six years for downloading instructions on how to blow up an aircraft with a bomb. The 27-year-old man, sentenced at Belfast crown court, was found guilty of possessing and collecting information connected with terrorism.
Authorities have admitted they are unsure exactly who he is. During his six-week trial, he appeared in court under the name Abbas Boutrab. He has used at least seven aliases since his first known arrest for stealing a bag in Paris 13 years ago.
Detectives in Northern Ireland, the British security services and the FBI along with police in the Irish Republic, France and Holland, were all involved in the intelligence operation that led to Boutrab's capture.
Police initially arrested him on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant. He was detained during a raid on his flat at Whiteabbey, on the northern outskirts of Belfast, in April 2003.

The Night Before Jihad
Twas the night before jihad and all through the mosque
Not a terrorist was stirring not even Abu Al-Zarasq
The suicide belts were arranged neatly on the floor
The written fatwah from Imam was taped to the door
The mullahs were delighted with news on CNN
That the Democrats were repeating how Bush lied again
The Times and DNC continually sing our notes
Yet, when we take over we'll still slit their throats
An infidel so friendly we could not recall
But, Burkett, Sheehan & Wilson weren't working at all
The Stupid Cowboy they called him was still all the news
Kerry was our man but destined to lose
When outside our haven arose such a clatter
The GIs were upon us to settle the matter
Allah would reward us with our virgins tonight
Not as we planned but for us it was all right
From our glorious heaven we heard news that we like
The American press spoke of this US terrorist strike
On Murtha On Pelosi On Kennedy and Reid
The Democrat Stooges always say as we need
The infidel liberals don't learn from their past
Merry jihad to all and to all a good blast
Is the NY Slimes onto this outrageous story? This poor Algerian had his privacy rights invaded by some UK government snooper program monitoring his Internet habits no doubt. Or maybe it was those rat bastards at the NSA. YEAH, Bush did it.
Knock Airport was on Al Qaeda hit-list (Irish airport, near a Marian shrine)
The instructions claimed the incendiary device would be planted in baby talcum powder canisters and easily smuggled onto an aeroplane for assembly in the toilet by a suicide bomber.
The instructions also advised the bomber to work alone and urged the volunteer to blow the aircraft up with yourself and may God accept you.
The FBI built the bomb Boutrab had designed by using the blue prints found in his Antrim flat. The device was then detonated in an old plane to show its deadly effectiveness. </snip>
Tell the perp he has a choice to make:
1. Read the Guardian every day for the next 6 years or
2. Eat bacon every day for the next 6 years.
His likely answer, extra bacon please.

I think the US military should spend the money to get articles placed in Al Jazeera and the other wacko middle eastern hate rags that the new US symbol of the success of the West and of capitalism is the New York Times building and tell them, don't dare harm said building since it is sacred to us!

Who cares what his name is?. Give him a number and a cellmate.
Interesting discussion on that other thread. How is it that "the IRA is not Al-Qaeda" automatically equates to IRA and Al-Qaeda are not linked?
I wish I could remember the source, but there was a great article about 2 years ago. It discussed terrorist training camps in South America, somewhere near Paraguay/Uraquay...Anyway, long story short, you'd have Al-Qaeda in one camp, FARC in another, IRA in another, etc., and they'd all work together when necessary. I'll have to ask my dad if he remembers the source of the article.
A true statement!!
They had been saying for years that "Sinn Fein are not the IRA", and we now know that Adams and McGuinness are sitting on the IRA Army Council!!

I hope you can find it!!
