George Clooney Scraps Casino Plans

George Clooney’s plans to build a casino in Las Vegas have been totally scrapped.

The actor had planned on teaming up with Brad Pitt and Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s man) to spend £3billion on creating the uber flash casino complex.

However, the trio have failed to obtain planning permission and other buildings are now being built in the area.

Clooney had planned on opening a smart establishment after he was inspired by his involvement in the Las Vegas based film ‘Oceans 11’.

He said: "When I was filming 'Ocean's 11' in Las Vegas, I met with Rande, who owns all these great bars, and we started talking about building a casino and how we would want to do it, which is to dress it up a bit - no shorts and tank tops after 6pm."

"I grew up watching my aunt sing in Vegas and everyone used to put on a jacket to go to the casino. There was sort of a European flavour - I always felt like I missed out on that."

Well, he will just have to think of another way to make loadsa money.

George, in his make believe Hollywood world, has problems distinguishing BS from reality.

What would be so horrible about a casino with a dress code?

If Vegas wants to keep ahead of all of the Indian casinos, riverboat casinos, etc. then having a classy casino with a dress code is not such a bad idea.

When I go to Vegas I like to dress in a sport coat. I find I get treated better, and I even get hit on by better looking hookers! ;-)

The title should read: "George Clooney is Scraps."

Gee, does this mean I won't see any more of the smarmy pics of Clooney and his 3 lieutenants in those 'Las Ramblas' ads in the WSJ every week?

That alone indicates how clueless this guy is. Can you imagine this scene:

"Sorry, buddy, but you saw the sign, no shorts after 6:00, We are going to have to ask you to leave."

"Get out. I am up $60,000! and you want me to leave? Do you know who I am?

"Yes, sir. I know who you are Mr. Gates. But rules are rules. Now come along quietly, we don't want a scene.

They have it, it's called 'Bellagio'. Dress code is (was?) in effect at all times. They don't throw people out at 6:00 pm.

was = maybe rules have changed, it has been awhile since I was at Belaggio.

What a loon.

It's the Las Vegas payback for the two "Oceans Eleven" films (in which Clooney, Pitt and rest thieve the casino): something's "being built already" and no building permits issued, etc.

The point is: for Clooney, Las Vegas is closed, ha.

Well when you make these "art-films" that only make a few million, you can't afford to build big buildings at will.

Given Clooney's lofty Hollywood stature, wouldn't it be more fitting for him to open a brothel?

Ok then, that explains a lot about Mr. Clooney.

Clooney knows as much about real estate as he knows about Iraq, which is not much. What a self-absorbed moron.

And Looney Clooney wants to be taken seriously when it comes to politics.

Politics schmolotics, we all know he's a clown in that regard. And this idea is about as unlikely to succeed as any other one out there, moreso than most, but I have to admit I kinda like it.

It would take a certain person to carry it off, someone with both the class and personal authority to make it stick, and I don't think Clooney comes anywhere close to that, but I still like the idea.

Poor old George is a product of his environment. You can't blame him for being a twit. What positive role models has he ever had? I mean, seriously? He grew up in a Hollywierd family, but in Kentucky, of all places. I get the impression that his family was always telling him what boobs the folks around them were compared to the "greats" in Hollywierd, either explicitely or implicitely. His family were incredibly talented and he was a "pretty boy" who everyone always fawned over. His aunt Rosemary and his uncle Jose were both among the most talented people I've ever seen perform. His cousin Mel is no slouch as a character actor, either. George has worked at his "craft," but I don't get the impression he's really ever had to work in the real world sense, regardless of the number of "real" jobs he's held. He's clearly never grown up.

To paraphrase too many sages to count, if you are not a liberal when you are young you have no heart and if you are not a conservative when you grow up you have no head. My take is that George has never grown up.
