Our solar system may not be unique after all. NASAs Spitzer Space Telescope has discovered gases which precede the formation of DNA and protein in the dust swirling around a young star which is located at a distance of 375 light-years. This discovery is exciting since it is the first time that these building blocks of more complex molecules have been found near a star which is similar to the Sun, said Fred Lahuis of Leiden Observatory and the Dutch Space Research Institute while speaking to DNA. Dr Lahuis is the lead author of a forthcoming paper on this discovery in the Astrophysical Journal Letters.
Talking about this sensational discovery Dr Lahuis said that the star IRS 46 in the constellation Ophiuchus could very well be what Sun was billions of years ago.
We found acetylene and hydrogen cyanide in gaseous form in the enriched area of the star disc where rocky planets such as Earth are thought to be born, Lahuis added.

We should send a probe out. By the time it gets there---life may have evolved.
A silly title. Any religionist will tell you that there is God, thus we are not alone.

Where? There or here?
Well, where are they?
And he isn't benign..so get pumped and spiritually armed. He isn't a friend!
There is NO evidence to support your contention. Maybe there will be at some point in the future. But for now, there is NO evidence to support your contention. Speculate if you like.
Ahh the infamous building blocks of life. And all they do is just sit there until....umm.....well....a builder puts them together in the proper manner to form life.
Religionist...now there's a new one...religionist.
What are you?

One of hundreds of civilizations?
Please cite evidence of other civilizations.
I bet someone said that to Christopher Columbus.
;-)
I'm curious...what do you mean?
"...the star IRS 46..." Just Great. As if we didn't have enough of those IRS life-forms running around all ready.
Still waiting! Hello...is anyone out there?
I never could comprehend how ANYONE could look up at the millions of suns we can see( and know there are millions more) and truly believe there is NOTHING and NO ONE else out there. It is statistically impossible.
I never have believed that all of that was created just for us to look at- much less that we are all God created.
