Thank you for putting it back into Breaking News, I think it belongs there.

(It started out in Breaking News, then it was removed from there.)

Does anyone think this "scandal" has legs? I know it's BS, but will it harm our President?

The scandal is the illegal leak of this classified information to the press. The perpetrators must be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

That all depends on how loudly the enemedia screams,
how high the leftist loons will jump,
and how many seats we lose in the 06 elections.

Outstanding - pretty outstanding.

In a nutshell, unless you are the enemy, what's the worry - what would be up with all the b!itching and hysterics, then. There are some people around who are badly in need of some investigative scrutiny, like, yesterday.

Oh - and a source link to the letter itself - http://www.nationalreview.com/pdf/12%2022%2005%20NSA%20letter.pdf

We'll never know how many attacks this program prevented.

and we don't need to know..

I've said it before, and I'll comtinue to say it..

I don't care how further attacks are prevented,
I just want my leaders to tell me "It won't happen again on our watch"
and mean it.

Kerry the traitor serves on the intelligence committee with Rockefeller. IMO, both belong in Leavenworth.

One step you can take is to sign the petition (see my tagline)calling for an investigation into national security leaks (including the WaPo secret detention leak).Since Congress has not made an effort to call for investigation, I guess we'll have to do it!

I want the traitors that leaked this info exposed to the world and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This is so much bigger than an insignificant cia staffer's name getting into an op-ed piece.

I get the feeling the administration has just fired a shot across the bow of some folks and let them know that they have crossed the line.

I felt the same way when I heard President Bush's press conference on Monday, when I believe he made this statement. Although I am not an attorney, I have held clearances and understand there are laws about never disclosing national secret information and that to do so is a felony. I detected a rather "harsh" Bush during this conference and although he skirted the reporters direct question about whether DOJ has instituted a criminal investigation I thought I detected in his words and tone that one was either under way, or commencing. I can only hope that Congresscritters are not afforded special treatment - I want these guys to hang just like Aldrich Ames did. I also want the NYT to hang, because there can be no doubt they knew they were publishing secret informant ion. No doubt about it, and that cannot be their defense. This is nothing like that bogus Valerie Flame incident - this is serious and someone is going to have to hang. I want the NYT to go down as bad as I want a Congresscritter's a$$.

I want Rockefeller in jail and anything less probably won't satisfy me :-)

This by itself will not satisfy me - I want the publisher of such national secrets also frog marched to jail - Pinchy Schuzlberger of the infamous NYT and Risen the author of the book.

Me too :(

What's particularly galling about this whole thing is that signals intelligence, such as the NSA is intercepting in these cases, has been absolutely critical in winning our past wars both cold and hot.

The famous Venona project was only implemented over the screaming protests of people in the Roosevelt administration, some of them later proved to be Soviet spies. The lefties have a long history of sabotaging our most critical intelligence resources.

I'm sure the DOJ already knows where it came from but are just determining if there will be prosecution, disappearance, robbery gone wrong, suicide, etc...I hope the one who leaked it is looking over their shoulder even right now.
