I agree. I lived in Russia for a long time. Just because a few left-wingers make noises, doesn't mean that Putin and Merkel and others aren't on our side at least secretly.
There are double agents for our side in high places I am sure. But I also have the dreaded fear that it has been too late with Iran for awhile. I fear that the Iraq War was telegraphed for a year in advance because Hezbollah possibly has a nuke in an American city...and Bush just played chicken with them on that score, telling them that he was going into Iraq only - let me do it or else. But Bush cannot play chicken on Iran and Syria. So he is stalemated.
It's worth suffering one nuked US city if we can then turn around an eliminate Islam and all its adherents in one fell swoop. They want to go nuclear? Fine by me. We have enough for every population center in the Islamic world and then some. Let them take their best - and last - shot.
Besides, if they nuke a city then the victims will be almost all Democrats - the very same folks who have been doing their damned best to make sure we are vulnerable to such an attack.
