Did future president James Madison precede Washington this time also?

I don't know the answer to that question....Colonial/Revolutionary War history is something that I am not familiar with and am trying to learn now. FReeper Pharmboy may be the best person to answer your question.

Don't quite know what you mean by "precede." James Monroe was a 17 year old soldier who was wounded the next day at Trenton bravely charging a Hessian cannon. Perhaps it is that future president you are referring to...
