Centrist Democrats hit anti-Bush tactics
THE WASHINGTON TIMES ^ | December 28, 2005 | Donald Lambro

Posted on 12/27/2005 11:26:24 PM PST by ferri

Some centrist Democrats say attacks by their party leaders on the Bush administration's eavesdropping on suspected terrorist conversations will further weaken the party's credibility on national security. That concern arises from recent moves by liberal Democrats to block the extension of parts of the USA Patriot Act in the Senate and denunciations of President Bush amid concerns that these initiatives could violate the civil liberties of innocent Americans. "I think when you suggest that civil liberties are just as much at risk today as the country is from terrorism, you've gone too far if you leave that impression. I don't believe that's true," said Michael O'Hanlon, a national-security analyst at the Brookings Institution who advises Democrats on defense issues. "I get nervous when I see the Democrats playing this [civil liberties] issue out too far. They had better be careful about the politics of it," said Mr. O'Hanlon, who says the Patriot Act is "good legislation."

I tell you I am scared half to death at the Democrats and more especially the RINOs. We are in danger and these idiots can only think of politics. They limit Pres. Bush's ability to secure us; then, if we are attacked again, they will blame him. Oh my God, what are we to do?

Whoa!

Nobody told me Centrist Democrats still existed! Didn't they go extinct around 2001?

Some Democrats "get it". Let's just hope the New York Times and their hate-spewing, get-Bush-at-any-cost brethren who populate the base of the Democrat Party don't listen to the "centrists".

Cheerio,

Get a grip! Bush is going to beat them over the head with this. There is no way he is going to let the rats and RINOs undercut our national security. Look for indictments against the leakers and new ones ripped for the traitors.

Sorry brother, but if their are no indictments then the Admin. leaked the stuff to test the waters to see if they can pass more Security laws later. It's a safe bet AG Gon. will go nowhere with the leaks.

Bingo. We have seen terrorists attacks in the US, we haven't even seen one abuse of civil liberties.

This concern about "civil rights" is a crock.

Anybody remember the Clintons having Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, James Dobson and other conservative religious leaders spied upon?

These men and others had their mail read, their phones tapped, mail covers run on them, followed around, and other various civil rights violations.

Not one peep from the so-called civil rights groups, that bunch of crapweasels.

and those leaks tell me foreign services and democrats eaves dropping on the US are more of a problem... and Bush's program interferes with this goal of theirs... getting a hand on vote counting and discriminating.

I got good news for them. Once it hits zero it can no longer weaken.

"Oh my God, what are we to do?"

This is all smoke, mirrors and ill-advised posturing on the part of the Dimowits. Everything they've thrown at the President since Day One has blown up in their faces. And stuff that's on hold (pending hearings and trials) will go the same route.

Don't worry. The Adults are in charge, and will remain in charge where National Security is concerned, no matter how much the spoiled teenagers whine, kick, scream and threaten to run away from home if they don't get their way.

(Please! Please! Run away! I'll help you pack, LOL!)
