The CIA's controversial program of having terrorist suspects captured and questioned on foreign soil began under President Bill Clinton, a former US agent says I read this earlier, thanks for posting it here.
To: aculeus
He said the program changed under Mr Clinton's successor, George Bush, after the attacks of September 11, 2001. Yes. The Clinton method was more effective. Certainly prevented 9/11, didn't it?

Is this a way for Clinton to plant the idea that he actually did something to battle al-Qaeda--a lie wrapped in a truth, which will be allowed to fly because it supports rendition of terrorists?

The Rats & their Big Media friends must be feverishly getting their talking points together.
I'm really surprised no investigative journalist like Mary Mapes found this little gem. ...maybe they did. ...they probably did and didn't report it.
To: TexasCajun
Was any of this...WOULD any of this had been reported by the NY SLIMES as it was now??
Where's the OUTRAGE over the leak in the first place!!

Then why didn't he use this program to give Bin Laden to the Saudi's when Sudan offered him up on a platter?

Then why didn't he use this program to give Bin Laden to the Saudi's when Sudan offered him up on a platter We need to ask Slick about that.
We also need to ask Little Dickie Clarke what he knew of this program and why he hasn't mentioned it as an ABC News analyst.

Democrats are conveniently amnesiac.

Yes.... Paging Richard freakin Clarke!
Makes me wonder if this is what the SandBurglar was stealing from the archives.

I have a sneaky suspicion all L/MSM have people view FR on a regular basis at this point in time.

"President Clinton, his national security adviser Sandy Berger and his terrorism adviser Richard Clark ordered the CIA in the autumn of 1995 to destroy al-Qaeda," the newspaper quoted Mr Scheuer as saying.
Oh reeeeeealy? In the words (nearly anyway) of Dr. Phil: "So how'd that work for ya?"
As some have already pointed out, so then why did they pass on Osama? This stinks like a planted story.
To: Republican in CA
I wondered that too, as well as offer a red herring as to why Sandy Burglar stole those confidential files.
I find this story hard to believe. One of the main reasons we didn't have the Intel we needed on terrorism was that Slick Willie passed a law that our intelligence agents could no longer use 'low lifes,'who are the only ones who snitch to intel agents. They also passed a law saying that we couldn't violate anyone's civil rights. He promptly bogged the intelligence agencies down with reviewing all the contacts intelligence had for the previous 10 years to ensure no one's rights were violated. This effectively prevented them from doing any new intelligence gathering.
Slick Willie was hardly the type to be tough on terrorists and this sounds to me like more legacy-rewriting as well as a Hillary campaign point.

I agree about believability, here.
Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Hillary!
Why else would Michael Scheuer, a 22-year veteran of the CIA WHO RESIGNED LAST YEAR, tell a GERMAN newspaper what the CIA did, does.
Did he fly in from France, or Disneyland- and the supersecret vacation of SpyMommy and Famous Daddy Wilson?

Let me get this straight.
"We asked the president what we should do with the people we capture. Clinton said, 'That's up to you."'"
This article basically says that Sandy Burgler and Richard Clark were making decisions that the President should have made.
Why is this not all over the national news?
I never heard this before. This is big, real big.
To: freema
I think I get it. Clinton wanted nothing to do with hurting his legacy. He worked on that his entire time in office. Leave the important decisions do others who could take the rap.
Spineless Clinton strikes again.
