New Orleans Police Superintendent Warren Riley said the shooting death of a knife-wielding man this week appeared justified, saying that officers followed procedure. Do you agree or not?

Their refusal to loot any nearby Wal Marts after the shooting makes them unworthy of being REAL New Awlins cops.

So what's the problem? The dude brought a knife to a gunfight. Clearly, to ask the question of right or wrong when you are confronted by an asailant with a knife and you bring up his or her color, you are simply racebaiting.
In the real world, unlike TV, handguns don't knock people down. If you hit the target, they perferate important parts that either shut down nerves or cause the subject to loose the ability to act from loss of blood. Major nerves are harder to hit than major organs. Shooting a moving target with a handgun even at close range is not a precision strike. You need a script writer to direct bullets at targets smaller than the center of mass. In any case; determined people usually don't stop what they are doing immediately just because they have been shot. In most cases from eighteen feet in, you are going to get cut even if you shoot the dude.
I don't understand why they didn't TASER him first. They pepper sprayed him, which did no good whatsoever. They could have tossed a net over him. A dozen guns against a man with a knife?
What I thought was hilarious was when the police had him surrounded by encircling him, all with their guns drawn. If he had made a move at that point, the cops would have probably shot each other.

Why do I get the idea that the MSM think this is worse behavior for a cop than looting the Wal Mart or not showing up to work?

Well, then I guess by not having TASERs, they had no choice but to put 7 bullets into the perpetrator. Case closed. The best outcome would have been if they opened fire while standing in the circle around the perp. That would have eliminated a lot of garbage from New Orleans.
What a despicable thing to say. Are we to condemn the entire police force to death for the rotten apples in their midst?
