Dear Droppings (liberal yammers about FR to local paper, mentions presidio9 -am I famous now?)
(Montpelier) Times Argus ^ | December 29, 2005 | Rama Schneider

Posted on 12/30/2005 7:23:05 AM PST by presidio9

Just wanted to send a note and say hey and tell you about one of the darnedest things. And I gotta say it is one of the clearest examples of how CONservatives (not to be confused with honest conservatives) have managed to convince so many people so many lies are in fact the truth. This is indeed a rather mind numbing stor ... eh ... no ... actually it's what I'd expect.

So here's what happened, Droppings: Somebody with the screen name of "presidio9" picked up my piece Green diets vs. global warming and posted it on the Internet message board Free Republic (click here to read post). You'll note presidio9 added "(eating better may reduce the methane released into atmosphere)" to my title without attributing his/her editing to her/himself ... and it's an edit that had nothing to do with my topic! The pretense of discussion that follows turns out to be chatter about the title part presidio9 itself added, and the responses were to a point never made in the article.

Simply put they took a truth (the article), added something that was not true (change to the title) and then acted like it was the author, and not one of themselves, who made the change to the title.

Those on the Free Republic site don't even rate as amateurs, but there are indeed pros doing the same thing. Remember John Kerry, my dear Droppings, and those miserable swift boat claims? They took the truth that John Kerry served in Vietnam, received several decorations and was wounded several times ... added their own claims that Kerry wasn't at certain incidents or wounded himself or lied on official reports ... and then made a "mainstream" media assisted and huge uproar over the issues they raised ... issues that turned out to be false!

For the mother of all lies ... Saddam Hussein and Iraq ... it was a set of actors that included so many in such high governmental offices: President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense (my what a misnomer), National Security Adviser and on and on. Droppings, it was so easy for them to layer the false claims regarding WMD and ties to al Qaeda onto such a despicable and barbarous person as Hussein ... and they did and they did and they did ad nauseum ... such ad nauseum only matched by the obsequious press renditions of each and every lie.

Forewarned is fore armed I guess my dear Droppings, and understanding how CONservatives (not to be confused with honest conservatives) manipulate the truth is a good forewarning for all of us I'd say.

PS. Droppings ... make sure you read Frames (click here) too!

Yah, but brackets are commonly used at FR to add satire or disclaimers, and are known to be the poster's, not the authors.

Ex: Clinton's Legacy (Barf Alert)

I can see where it created a problem, but geez, some people need to lighten up. I doubt it was intentionally done to "forge" a headline. If you don't frequent these boards, you might not distinguish the diff. The author also could have pm'd the poster to at least ask why that was done.

Uhm no. The charges made by the Swiftboat Vets were proven true by officers who served with Kerry, they were never discredited or proven false. Lots of Lefty's insist the swifties were discredited, but none have ever followed that charge with examples or proof. Wishing doesn't make it so.

Well, it'/s hard to tell exactly WHAT point the author was trying to make with the article, because no points are developed beyond the rhetorical stage: It DOES seem that thte author leaves him(her?) self open to ridicule for the suggestion that human "emissions" due to the wrong diet are responsible to some degree for global warming. This contention is demonstrably more ridiculous than the same argument put forth against SUVs and numerous other villains.
Either way, the article is foolish in both its claims and its "preaching to the choir" rhetoric.

Even amateurs do a bit of research before diving in. Again, what does it say about the whiner that he/she/it didn't even try to contact presidio9 to ask what was up. Just jumped to conclusions and knee-jerked a whiney moan. Amateurs....

Everything published in newspapers, especially the opinion columns, is truth. Everything on the Freep pages is false. OK now I get it.

"Droppings" are people who have been dropped on their heads from very high places. When their brains get scrambled up, we then call them "liberals" , or "demorats"!(same difference) If they are beyond any help, we then call them "journalists for the MSM", and these folks are to be avoided at all costs as all they can do is make stuff up, then lie about it. If they have less than two brain cells remaining, we call them "demorat senators". These can be described as "Kennedy, Biden, Leahy, or Kerry", and are to be avoided too! I hope this helps you understand what "droppings" really are. :0 )

added their own claims that Kerry wasn't at certain incidents

Kerry himself has been forced by the Swifties to retract his claim that he was in Cambodia during Christmas. He now claims he was mistaken, even though he testifed under oath in Congress [1972?] about how it was "seared in his memory". LOL. +1 Swifties.

Oh yeah, Kerry is also a confessed war criminal. Haul him before your precious ICC please. -1 Kerry
