Frog Marching refers to the practice of forcibly transporting a suspect or prisoner through a public place, up to and including carrying him/her by the limbs, causing them to be splayed in such a fashion that the person resembles a frog.

A second definition is attributed to the British observation of French (ie Frog) surrender in multiple armed conflicts.

Another good outcome of this story is that the NY Times is going to spend million$ to try to keep their reporters from testifying about their source. Money they don't have.

Their future is more layoffs of NY Times employees and a further collapse of the NY Times stock price.

Life is good!

Nearly a dozen current and former officials, who were granted anonymity because of the classified nature of the program, discussed it with reporters...

Excellent observation. Thanks for posting it. I have a few rhetorical questions:

"Nearly a dozen" -- I wonder what "nearly" means. 11, 10, 9, 11½ (Tommy is small enough to be the half).

"Current and former officials" -- I wonder what they mean by "officials." People who won elections, or people who work for people who won elections, or both? I also wonder if all these "nearly a dozen...officials" met with Slimes reporters individually, a few at a time, or in a group. If not in a group, I wonder if each "official" knew the others were also ratting out their country to the Slimes.

"...granted anonymity because of the classified nature of the program." -- Amazing. The Slimes prints the classified material but grants anonymity to the people who are committing one or more crimes by leaking it. The Slimes, however, doesn't see the irony and contradiction in its own position.

Those two holes in the ground where buildings used to be in lower Manhattan or teh spot on the pentagon where the brick doesn't match because they just got through replacing it might have been a good clue.

***Unless the NYT has clearance, this isn't true.***

Yes it is.

For starters take a look at the Title 18, Chapter 37, Section 798a of the US Code.

ESPIONAGE AND CENSORSHIP
Disclosure of classified information

a) Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes, or uses in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest of the United States or for the benefit of any foreign government to the detriment of the United States any classified information -- ~~snip~~

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

(b) As used in subsection (a) of this section -- The term ``classified information'' means information which, at the time of a violation of this section, is, for reasons of national security, specifically designated by a United States Government Agency for limited or restricted dissemination or distribution...

Note: Nowhere in that section is the term 'security clearance' used. And not to get picky but the leaker(s), this Risen mope and his co-writer, along with the NY Times, would (could) also be looking at Title 18, Chapter 19, 'Conspiracy' charges.

And really no offense but by your argument, if the NY Times would have published the A-bomb secrets the Rosenburgs stole on page one, it would have been 'A Okay'. That's nonsensical.

Just so long as those reporters do NOT get out...by making a deal that WE never hear about..like Judith Miller did..

Do we know, to this day, what she really said to get her "Get out of jail, free" card?

From StoptheACLU.com:

Turns out the NY Times is not the only paper to have its leakers sources investigated. The Washington Post is reporting their CIA Prison story leaks are being investigated

The Justice Department has also opened a probe into whether classified information was illegally disclosed to The Washington Post, which reported on a network of secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe and elsewhere

.

I am being told in private by someone with sources that there are multiple targets, Flopping Aces is right that the targets are known since the investigation is well along, and the Robertson resignation is linked. Now if all of this comes true I will be a very happy person!

The person who passed this along is free to brag if they want, and I will give credit where credit is due

Crappy Commie Judge Robertson! Hang him high!

I hear the hum of shredders at NYTimes and WaPo. And the din of hammers breaking up hard drives to toss into the Hudson and the Potomac.

Article I Section 6 of the US Constitution

"...Senators and Representatives ...shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from arrest..."

Oops...the Democrat leadership forgot to read the fine print.
