Another hot ticket was Odeon Films and B.C. PWAs premiere screening of Brokeback Mountain. B.C. Persons With AIDS Society chair Paul Lewand welcomed a full house to the benefit showing. The epic American love story from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee, based on the short story by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Proulx, had the Fifth Avenue Cinema audience all hot and buttered. More bothered than buttered, Lewand is also currently embroiled in a dispute (along with artist Tiko Kerr and gay priest Michael Forshaw) with Health Canada to have compassionate access to the experimental HIV drugs TMC 114 and TMC 125.

The first thing that came to mind, LOL.
Refer back to the pucking vid post.
This is just so funny on so many levels, eh?
What's SSM?
SSM = same sex marriage
bump with no comment
Canadian's names are probably published on an "enemies of the
motherland" list if they don't see the fagfest.
"Compassionate access" means somebody else pays for it against their will so you can have it free.
As far as I know, none of the stories about the huge financial success of this movie have honestly mentioned that 20% of its total boxoffice receipts have come from just 5 movie theaters, located in predictable neighborhoods.
