No kidding...avg_freeper. I have never in my life seen hatred of Catholics like I have seen on Free Republic. The first time I saw it I was shocked and thought it must be a fluke. But no - it wasn't. Now that I have been on here for more than a year I realize its not only quite common but in many cases it is tolerated. These people don't even realize how much they have in common with the left. Most leftists hate the Catholics with the same passion. I can only imagine what these bigots would write on these threads if they were not concerned about being tossed.
Honestly I have no idea where this crap comes from but I suspect it comes right from the mouth of the Protestant clergy. These people must eat this stuff up as children and spew it out like the vomit it is.
Never once have I entered into a conversation with a member of my faith who had such rabid foaming of the mouth hatred of Protestants - never. Never once have I met a priest who spoke about hatred of Protestants. Honest to Christ Himself you people should think about the hypocrisy of attending your church while your heads and hearts are filled with hatred for Catholics.

St. Thomas Becket...except for breaking the vows of poverty, chastity and humilty, he made a great priest.
Why did it take four knights to kill him?

The Black Adder, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084988/, wasn't even mentioned. What's up with that?

What about Mary Tudor who burned hundreds of protestants at the stake, including Thomas Cranmer whose prayer book surely must count as one of the most wonderful things written in the English language?
Latimer's words to Ridley must likewise count as among the most inspiring ever spoken:
'Be of good comfort, Master Ridley, and play the man; we shall this day light such a candle by God's grace in England, as I trust shall never be put out.'
