Very good post Cpt.
I am very proud of my VN service.I was just a radio person but we did our job pretty well.
It`s always made me mad to hear the leftist lies told about VN.Not to mention the low-lifes that claim to to be VN vets, they are pathetic.

Thank you. If you feel that my post can counter the innumerable lies, half truths and distortions about one of the most crucial events of the last 40 years, than I am flattered to think that you or anyone else would find my screed to be of value. Use it as you wish.

Great article,
I as a seventeen yr old( to turn 18 within the year), was talking with a recruiter about enlisting combat arms US Army 1971. Now as many, I wish I had went thru with it back then.

Thank John Frikkin Kerry for that particular abomination.

I, a USN retiree/Vietnam vet, was treated to the same "academic" posturing, lecture after lecture, while enrolled in a Vietnam War history course at Cal Berkeley, 1987. I finally took to grinning whenever the lunatic conducting the course made a particularly outrageous statement.
Finally, the "professor" challenged me; and I responded that it was dangerous and intellectually dishonest to present one side of such a serious matter while posing as an educator. As I gathered up my effects and left the class, for good, I recommended that the students be exposed to the works of Dr. Walt Rostow and Sir Michael Howard, just for the sake of some balance.
I agree with your excellent comments. Sorry for such a late response, but I just came across the thread and wanted to PING it.

Thanks for writing this thread.
I always say that some of the greatest Americans I have met have been Vietnam Veterans. I am proud to be American in the presence of Vietnam Vets, I sincerely am.
Thanks to all of you who have served our country so honorably.
I am sorry for the crap that small minded people have laid at your feet.
Real Americans know who the heroes are~forget the rest of them.

Vietnam veterans' personal income exceeds that of our non-veteran age group by more than 18 percent. But, but, but, we were over there killing babies while the liberals were in college getting those great educations, smoking dope, chasing babes, and protesting. How can this be true???
One thing I did not know before I read this article. Excellent!!!

Democrats pulled the US into Vietnam full force. LBJ enlarged it. Nixon finally ended it. Yet, it was "Nixon's war" that I have heard so much over the years. B.S. DEMOCRATS WERE THE INSTIGATORS OF PUTTING THE USA INTO VIETNAM. I guess that is why this time they actually are not supporting a war, because they lost the last one.
