"Ouch! That's a fair snootful. Instead, come to New Zealand, try our steak (the lamb is even nicer) and enjoy our hospitality. We keep the good stuff for domestic consumption and export the rest."
Oops, I only saw this old thread now. To be honest and not badmouthing this country's produce, New Zealand beef along with Australian plays second fiddle to US beef. Not as tender, and the flavour are pretty much identical, Australian and NZ beef is considered not as good as its US counterparts. When you visit Hong Kong's meat wholesaler, you will notice US prime beef is more expensive than Australian or NZ beef. Of course Kobe steak is the most expensive if you can find it.
Having tasted heaps of steak at restaurants in starred hotels and at home both here in New Zealand and in the US, I have to agree with the general verdict on NZ and US beef in Asia.
Lamb from NZ is no doubt top rate though.

Lamb from NZ is no doubt top rate though. If you like old stinky lamb that is.
Otherwise find a local source. CA Sonoma lamb is far far better then the kiwi stuff.

Mate, when lamb can taste better than the world's best beef, you *know* you are living in New Zealand, Godzone, otherwise known as Paradise!
