Ramona Bell (Mrs. Art Bell) Dies

Art Bell's beloved wife of fifteen years, Ramona, died unexpectedly last night after an asthma attack. At present, the exact cause of Mrs. Bell's death has not been determined. It apparently took place during her sleep.

Until her death, Art and Ramona Bell had not been apart a day since they were married. Mrs. Bell had suffered from asthma for years, and took her normal steps to control the attack, which occured sometime last night in Laughlin, Nevada where the Bells were taking a brief vacation. Ramona Bell was 47 years old.

Jeez... this is very sad. My heart goes out to him, I know what it's like to lose the person you fall asleep at night next to.

Seems like C2C needs to upgrade the psychics and paranormals it has on the show, though.

I was making a long distance truck drive New Year's night last weekend and listened to the show straight through.

I found the show interesting.

Sad for him.

Your right he has been through a lot. I hope it doesn't effect his health any. It would be a real shame to lose another member of the Bell family.

He also has some serious back problems, which I believe was the reason for his semi-retirement.

I haven't listened to the show for years so don't know if that problem has been taken care of or not.

I loved the insane guests, I could feel Art was mostly tongue-in-cheek with them. I remember him talking about the big wooden alien Rush Limbaugh sent him.

Art is one hell of a interviewer. You could tell when his BS meter would go up. Radio hosts could learn a lot from both Art and Rush.

I'd listen to his show on the way back from somewhere late at nite in the car, or occasionally at home when I was listening to something else and Art Bell followed the program I was listening to and I was too lazy to change the channel or turn off the radio. Then I'd get hooked on the hokem. It was pure baloney generally, but I liked it anyway, and some of the topics were pretty interesting in their own out of this world way. My sympathy goes out to Mr. Bell on the passing of his wife. May she RIP.

For a short time, Art was a telephone lineman. One day he finally had an accident and slipped down the pole, striking the ground at the bottom and hurting his back in the process.

I have bad back problems, too, even as athletic as I am. This is another thing Art and I have in common.

How terribly sad. Art always has spoken about Ramona in much a affectionate and respectful manner. You can tell there was a strong and genuine love between them. I am sure he and his family are in total shock. It is Sending lots of prayers their way

Thanks for an interesting summary that puts things into a better light. Art was an amateur radio operator and was always promoting the hobby, not acting the part of a broadcast professional snob.

While I have poked fun at C2C callers & antics in the past, this news is very sad and condolences to someone who obviously loved his wife very much. Thats something you don't hear about as often nowadays, especially from the left coast.

I was fortunate enough to remember to catch his end of the year predictions show this year. Him and Ramona were there till the end enjoying life together. Theres no other person in this world that He loved more. God bless Mr. Bell. God have mercy on us all.
