"Our founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves if they realized that this First Amendment language that they adopted would now be used to destroy a policy that a local school board made regarding students being made aware of the theory of intelligent design,"

Because the left refuses to believe in God, they think "truth" can be adjudicated.

There is no such thing as separation of church and state. I can't seem to find that anywhere in the Constitution. So, I'm thinking this is all made up.

"The judge specifically ordered the school board never to denigrate or disparage the theory of evolution,"

This is what really gets me....you can't even criticize evolution at all...its absoultely perfect in every way...

Pathetic.

"The judge specifically ordered the school board never to denigrate or disparage the theory of evolution," Thompson contends, "which now makes that theory sacrosanct and violates one of the major principles of America -- that no official, high or petty, should establish dogma or orthodoxy in a method of thinking."

I think it is pitiful where men with their very finite minds argue about how an infinite mind does things!

students being made aware of the theory of intelligent design

There's no such thing as a "theory of intelligent design". It's just a big lie fabricated by dishonest people who are trying to destroy whats left of our education system.

One thing that is being overlooked and under reported is the judges ruling on the worthiness of ID. I do not have the ruling in front of me, so I can not quote him directly, but he made a statement containing the following idea. "ID deserves to be EXAMINED, DISCUSSED, AND DEBATED" If not in the classroom, where? It is legal for the District to have a book in the library, but they can not tell of its' title or contents? How is this possible!

Of course not, there is no ends to which the human mind will fool itself when it sees facts contradicting an emotionally held viewpoint.

The solution is to have parents pay for the education of their children. If they want their children to believe that they are descended from rats and cockroaches, fine.

If they can’t afford to pay for their children’s education, they should be given vouchers

BTW all these evolutionist, when they see death approaching, I would like to see how firm their faith is.

Intelligent design is doing more to hurt the cause of Christ than to help it. It is ridiculed by non-believers and splits the faithful.

There is a solution, Home School.

Just my opinion...
But I think that the evolutionists still can't believe that they didn't
win a final decision about discussion of "ultimate causes" after
the Scopes Trial and the revisionist "Inherit The Wind".

The evolutionists and the IDers would do well to read "The Twilight of
Atheism" by Alister McGrath. Link to the amazon.com listing:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0385500610/qid=1136651597/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-2438496-4336738?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

For the evolutionists, they'd probably be enlightened to read the section
about how decades of Stalinism/materialism and torture basically failed
to end the average Russian's religious devotion.
And the IDers would get some cogent discussion from McGrath that
shows that IDer (the theistic ones) will never obtain observable,
rigourously scientific proof of "G-d" to present to the evolutionists.

A lot of "heat and light" (and legal fees) is being wasted right now...
that could be spent on high school text books.

IMHO, the evolutionists are now making a mistake in even trying to keep
discussion of ID even out of philosophy classes or being dismissive of
it even when presented for a topic in religion classes (the Paul Mirecki
case at U. Kansas).

There's something about truth ... it just doesn't go away!

As a matter of fact my daughter and I will be attending the Creation conference in New Jersey. Here's more information on it:

http://www.AnswersinGenesis.org

Yo ACLU - Gonna stop us from attending that too?
Going to require we adopt your hopeless, godless and perversion defending world view? LOL! Rot with it, you know where.

Also, he notes, many in the academic and scientific communities are realizing that evolution does not explain the complex biological systems scientists are now discovering through advanced technology.

Many is about 6, I think.
