In a last-minute and unexplained move Friday, Senate Democrats pulled Stephen Dujack as a witness for Samuel Alito's confirmation hearings next week. Dujack was supposed to testify against Alito for his association with the conservative Concerned Alumni of Princeton.
Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vt.), ranking Democrat on the committee, issued a press release Thursday that included Dujack as a witness. However, Friday's official committee release of Republican and Democrat witnesses doesn’t include Dujack.
Reports of Dujack’s controversial articles -- one compared farm animals to Holocaust victims -- began to filter out Friday afternoon when an aide to Sen. John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) e-mailed to reporters a Los Angeles Times op-ed written by Dujack that compared farm animals to Holocaust victims.
The Drudge Report later revealed that Dujack donated $2,000 to Sen. John Kerry’s presidential campaign in 2004.
A Republican Judiciary Committee staffer told HUMAN EVENTS late Friday that Democrats gave no indication why Dujack’s name was removed from the witness list after Leahy issued his press release with Dujack's name on it.
However, another GOP Senate aide said it appears that Democrats foresaw the problems Dujack posed as a witness, and in an effort to save face, decided to pull him from the panel of outside witnesses.

ha ha
The was their "ace in the hole".
He lasted about 10 hours after the pajamahadeen got ahold of him.
Gee, that's too bad, I was looking forward to his appearance.
Somebody's been listening to Rush.
A bit too far in left field was he? LOL!
That or he couldn't keep his lies and BS straight.
LOL, many Republicans were ecstatic at the prospect of interviewing this arrogant fool.
No kidding. I had my popcorn poppper all ready to go and everything. I don't want to suggest the 'Rats are cowards in this matter, but don't I hear clucking in the background?
Sen.Cornyn could use a lesson in timing, especially when you have something this damaging about a hostile witness.
LOL - what a great story. The Dems just can't catch a break!
Yeah, too soon to release all this, but Cornyn wasn't the only one out there with all the dirt.
"Mr. Dujack, we'd like to hear your thoughts on the extermination of people and animals..."
another one bites the dust . . .
Alito is going to be confirmed and there's nothing the Dems can do about it.
Whadda bunch of pussies. If they didn't have the MSM in their corner they would be a debating club in Ann Arbor with pocket protectors and the whole rig.
What's to keep the Pubbies from calling him as a witness? Oh, yeah . . . stones.
This is a disaster.
Why in the world would you give up an oppurtunity to embarrass the dems star witness.
We always hear how bush doesn't vet people. This guy would have been great.
Is Cornyn dense? He releases the info before the hearing where the dems can pull him and get no heat instead of it being a huge story during the hearing.
I hope Cornyn is taking heat for this. Why in the world would you tip the dems off like this?
He lasted about 10 hours after the pajamahadeen got ahold of him.
$$$$
I am eagerly awaiting the work of pajamahadeen on that judge who is against punishment for raping children. I am sure that there is MORE to his story.
The Democrats are crazy. They will eventually have to stop trolling out UFOs made of styrofoam or even their media friends will tire of them.
