This creep should be in prison.

Likely will end up there.

What a headline! You get fired from your team for being a bonehead, but you "decide to turn pro."

Marcus will end up at another position.....if he lasts that long.

He's a punk....like the rest of the Virginia Tech squad.

He's screwed.

Personally I would have opted for D1-AA or something else.

Look for him to be a 2nd day pick, probably by a team that has a veteran QB but the end is near (Arizona anyone?) who can develop him as a project

A ticket for 38 in a 25 speed zone seems awfully petty.

They could give everyone a ticket for that.

Must have been trying to meet their quotas.

[ I] "look forward to proving my athletic ability at the professional level. I believe I am ready for this challenge"

he was caught on tape stomping on the left calf of Louisville All-American defensive end Elvis Dumervil after a tackle.

Vick was suspended from school in 2004 because of several legal problems,

Vick had been stopped for driving 38 mph in a 25 mph zone and driving with a revoked or suspended license on Dec. 17.

Vick's license had been taken away in August 2004 when he was cited for reckless driving and marijuana possession,

another conviction for serving alcohol to underage girls

Good enough to be a "pro". I guess.

Yet another drugged-up thug trying to turn into a professional ball player.

He'll fit right in with the felons frequenting the NFL these days. If these guys couldn't throw a football or dribble a basketball, they'd be doing the drive-by shootings or liquor store holdups or your neighborhoods. It's really no surprise. Rotten values don't change because you wear a uniform (non-military).

I guess that's as good an option to being expelled as any.

Vick looks like he might fit in as a Raider.

Friday night, Marcus Vick told The Virginian-Pilot that he would turn professional. "It's not a big deal. I'll just move on to the next level, baby" he said

it's peculiar how the story has changed from this morning ... when I saw the story this morning, Vick had, what I thought, a snotty attitude as quoted above. Now he is all apologetic and so on. I can't find that quote anywhere else ... he must know the xxxlintons

"I have decided to enter the NFL draft," the junior quarterback said in a three-paragraph statement released through his lawyers.

Dodged that McBullet.

Just another punk like OSU's Mauriece Clarett (sp?)

There is not a sane NFL headcoach that will take this guy and all his baggage. But then again .... there are only about a dozen SANE head coaches in the NFL.

Headline from the future (it's just humor).

October, 6th - 2007

Culpepper, VA (AP) Marcus Vick through a 17-yard touchdown pass to Perdogg, 41, with only 5 seconds to go as the "mean machine" defeated a group of prison guards 28-27, in a charity game prison football game shown on ESPN-2.

Ironically, Perdogg was sentance to 2 1/2 years in the January for beating up a man in a Manassas Va in bar, in an arguement after Washington upset Dallas, 35-23, in the divisional playoffs that stopped Dallas' 17-game winning streak.

The bigger story to me, an avid college football fan, is the descent of the Virginia Tech program into thugdom. It's been apparent to close observers for the last 3 or 4 years, but this incident, and the team's behavior in that bowl game, have really brought it into the spotlight.

It's equally interesting to me that it appears as if the university president and AD are the ones taking action now, as if Beamer is reluctant.
