"former CIA Director John Deutch"
Wow, I didn't think we would sever see him in public again on a security issue.

I read this somewhere before. If it makes it past WND or Newsmax I will keel over and die.

Me too. I'm tired of holding my breath waiting for the old media to pick up these stories.

The summit will feature speakers including Yossef BodanskyOh good, the guy who advocated bombing the Sudanese aspirin factory.

Gee, I didn't see Willie Clinton on the speakers roster!
Must be that he's busy collecting speaking fees elsewhere!

Here's hoping that Syrian Vice-President that just defected can shed some light on that subject. Same for the former intelligence chief that just defected from Syria.

"According to Loftus, the contractor who obtained the tapes would like to remain anonymous until he makes his presentation. IMHO....TWO THINGS... #1 Drag this "contractor" guy along with his "tapes" to the President's State of the Union Address.
#2 To ensure the contractor AND his taped WMD evidence "survives" until he is able to present it publicly, let him use the White House bunker as his new address until he does...

The contractor who obtained and reviewed these tapes of historical significance plans to release them to the public Feb. 17, 2006 at the Intelligence Summit, a non-partisan, non-profit conference open to the public, scheduled to be held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. If true, what are the odds of him making it there now that the date, time, and location are known to the world?
If he truly has the "Holy Grail" of WMD evidence, why not release it now to the public for all to see and analyze?

I'd scratch Deutch and add Laurie Mylroie.

Silly question
But why does he have these tapes and why weren't they handed over to the intel agencies??
And why did he wait so long to present them?

The big question is, and it pisses me off that it is not being seriously discussed, is where are they now?
We know they were there in 1998. They have not been accounted for since.
Who knows where they are? Who has access to them? What danger do they pose at this time?
Ten years from now are we going to read about a couple of cities in Iraq or wherever having their populations wiped out overnight because the dems decided to play politics and pretend they never existed?
They exist and are still unaccounted for.

The timing of this discussion could turn out to be a little embarrassing for whoever decided that we could release "Dr. Germ" and "Mrs. Anthrax"..... they were cut loose recently without, apparently, our yet having recovered any of their missing materials or files. Dr. Taha ("Dr. Germ") was interviewed by an international television documentary crew in her offices a month before the war started. They returned after the war and documented that all her files were gone, file cabinets, equipment, everything. All cleaned out. None of that stuff was recovered. The videotape was played on PBS, on "Frontline."
