Cy, short for Cyclopes, a kitten born with only one eye and no nose, is shown in this photo provided by its owner in Redmond, Oregon, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005. The kitten, a ragdoll breed, which died after living for one day, was one of two in the litter. Its sibling was born normal and healthy. (AP Photo/Traci Allen)

I think I saw that in a Quiznos commercial.

Seriously, I hope the poor thing didn't suffer.

I call BS. Kittens that small don't have eyes that large.

This has been photoshopped.

Do kittens open their eyes after one day?

I agree, eyes don't open for several days after birth and not that large. That cat is only a few days old. Doesn't pass the smell test.

In favor of your call also is kittens' well-known proclivity for being born with EYES SHUT.

Don't you think that a kitten without a nose and with only one eye MIGHT already be messed up enough to have a really large eye? I find that the least surprising aspect of it all.

Nature comes up with strange things sometimes.

I'm with you, that doesn't look possible. Besides the size of the eye, the eye/mouth symmetry speaks against it being real as well.

I may be wrong, but I doubt it.
