DETROIT -- The NFL is letting people over 45 years old decide for themselves whether they're up for the physical challenges of a Rolling Stones halftime show.
The NFL originally had asked for people ages 18 to 45 to be part of the Super Bowl halftime show featuring the Rolling Stones in Detroit on Feb. 5.
The league did not want anyone older than 45 because volunteers will be on their feet a long time.
The Rolling Stones themselves are in their 50s and 60s.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said they wanted to open up the call for volunteers after hearing from some older Stones fans.
It certainly isn't the norm out here. My husband at 45 is older than most of the men who have children at my two kid's school and he physically looks easily ten years younger than all of them. Most of the men that I know there and from just normal casual relationships are not even remotely in shape in their late 30's and early 40's. 45 and up? No way.
Well you do have to keep active eat right and eliminate stress from your life to age gracefully, your husband is obviously living right, if you don't take care of your mind body and spirit after 30 you will look and feel like dog poop.
He's married to me. Two out of three ain't bad anyway.
Me, too! Let's see the winners of a national marching band competition. I'm as tired of the aged baby boomer halftime shows as I am of the sleazy commercials.
LOL..Keep him on his toes is always a good thing!
I love all kinds of music, I am pretty much a music freak, but the one band I will break a hand trying to get off the dial is the Stones. I despise them and it has nothing to do with politics. I hated them growing up and I hate them still.
Jagger is going on 70????
I said traitor! 2nd from left.
Actually there was a big fuss about it by you know who.Can you guess who it was?
Tell me more...
No, Bill Wyman is AND he's making some darn good music these days!
Oh I did not know..?
makes me chuckle & think of the "one scene" in recent movie the Producers with chorus line of little old ladies w/walkers...
So you started this thread out of spite?
Scene cuts to the Andover shop. Jerry: "Excuse me I'd like to return this jacket." Teller: "Certainly. May I ask why?" Jerry: "........For spite..." Teller: "Spite?" Jerry: "That's right. I don't care for the salesman that sold it to me." Teller: "I don't think you can return an item for spite." Jerry: "What do you mean?" Teller: "Well if there was some problem with the garment. If it were unsatisfactory in some way, then we could do it for you, but I'm afraid spite doesn't fit into any of our conditions for a refund" Jerry: "That's ridiculous, I want to return it. What's the difference what the reason is." Teller: "Let me speak with the manager...excuse me .............Bob!" (walks over to the manager and whispers) Teller "........spite....."(Manager walks over) Bob: "What seems to be the problem?" Jerry : "Well I want to return this jacket and she asked me why and I said for spite and now she won't take it back." Bob: "That's true. You can't return an item based purely on spite." Jerry:. "Well So fine then ..then I don't want it and then that's why I'm returning it" Bob: "Well you already said spite so......" Jerry: "But I changed my mind.." Bob: "No...you said spite...Too late."
Everything Is Turning To Gold was also recorded (it was released as a B side and special collections track). Tracks from these sessions that were never released included the famous Claudine (which was never released because it was sure to cause litigation from Claudine Longet after she was reprieved from killing her boyfriend), plus Everlasting Is My Love, Covered In Bruises, Indian Girl, Misty Roads, Jah Is Not Dead, We Had It All, Fiji Gin, I Can't Help It, Do You Think I Care, The Way She Held Me Tight, I Need You, Let's Go Steady, Petrol, No Spare Parts, You Win Again, It's A Lie, It's All Wrong, Never Let Her Go, Never Make You Cry, Not The Way To Go, Biscuit Blues, Disco Music, When You're Gone, Angeline.
This information comes from "It's Only Rock And Roll: The Ultimate Guide To The Rolling Stones" by Karnbach and Bernson and from my own collection.
So where the heck are all these tracks on the recent Rarities album half filled with live concert throwaways?!
"Rarities" was a BIG let down. A lot of those songs ,though, are "around".
I will NEVER forgive them for "Emotional Rescue." One of the worst songs ever laid to wax.
