BANGOR, Maine Former President Bill Clinton surprised U.S. troops arriving from Iraq when a refueling stop for his private plane at the Bangor International Airport coincided with the arrival of two flights carrying soldiers.
Clinton was returning Monday night from Paris where he had met with French President Jacques Chirac to discuss plans for his charitable organization, the Clinton Foundation.

I almost went and greeted that troop flight. I will usually greet one that comes in around that time. I'm so glad I didn't. Bill Clinton, the press, and I should never be in the same room.

Yeah, he could have autographed your penis. I don't HAVE a penis...
BTW, my husband says "you're welcome," for his 16-month service in Iraq.

In that case, I'm sure he would've found a couple other things to autograph...

I thought it was appropriate that he was returning from PARIS after meeting with Chirac, while our heroes were returning from IRAQ after fighting killers. :)
Good of him to Thank them for their Service, all the same.

"I thought it was pretty decent of Clintoon to greet the troops. He didn't have to do it, and it wasn't even planned."
Are you kidding? He's out schilling for Hillary's 2008 Presidential bid.

Okay, honestly, people, if Clintoon showed up the day my husband arrived at Bangor, he would have taken a bunch of pictures of Clintoon and his army buds sharing their nth Guinness together, looking drunk, acting goofy, and just happy to be home.

I thought it was pretty decent of Clintoon to greet the troops. Troops serving in the military that Slick loathes.
To: rightalien
Bill "I loathe the military" Clinton runs into some troops. Pity them.

[One thing Bill Clinton and W share, is a good sense of humor. ... That's one of the reasons why he's one of the few Democrats who claimed success at the national level.]
That is one of the two reasons.
The other reason is he assumed for himself popular Republican policies such as free trade, welfare reform, federal spending caps, capital gains tax cuts, and even using the military to remove a brutal dictator (Slobodon Melosevic). He made himself out to be a fiscal conservative (at least compared to all the other tax and spend Democrats) and it got him elected president twice.

When reading the excerpt, my first assumption was he probably delayed our men from landing or taking off.

Nah, they had to pry Mr. Clinton off of one of the flight attendants.
"Attention Ladies and Gentlemen: We are now preparing for landing. Mr. Clinton, please return your flight attendant to an upright position."
To: rightalien
Did anyone get a photo of our troops spitting on him?
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Not only would I refuse to shake his hand, I would exercise my free speech rights to the fullest.
